SPAM... has it changed your life? (the team or the meat..or both!)

Hi fellow FIRSTers! I am working on the display for team 180's pit. We had an idea to put quotes from other FIRST teams about SPAM.... the team, or even the luncheon meat (has SPAM ever lended your team a helping hand in the pit, or was your view obstructed during the final matches on the Curie field because the shield of red capes three rows ahead??). Please post any quotes you would like to share, and be seen at the competitions. Thank you, and good luck to everyone in the 2007 Rack 'n Roll competition! See you in Florida and Atlanta!!!

The only interaction we have really had with Team SPAM was we were handing out our WATSON awards in 2004 at the Championship event and when we came to give SPAM our spirit award there was only one older guy in the pit, we wanted to have pictures of the team with the trophy for each trophy so in our scrapbook we have a picture of this guy with a huge smile holding the 2004 championship watson award for spirit.

I got my start in FRC in 2004. Now, we all remember our first event, usually with some degree of your mind being blown thrown in there for good measure. I still remember Palmetto that year, particularly the practice day. I was doing a feeble attempt at scouting, and it was a practice match with SPAM. I looked away for a fraction of a second, with S.A.M. still on the ground.

When I looked back, that same robot was in the air.

It was about that time when I realized just how high the bar is set in this contest. Don't ask me if I've reached it yet--the answer will be discovered at Palmetto--but that set it.

we paried with SPAM in 2005 at nationals...great team...but that is my only interaction with SPAM but a good one!!!!!!
