Yes, there is a difference between a thread and a post. A thread is a discussion topic. A post is a single comment that is made in a thread or discussion. To make a thread, you go into the right (general, robot showcase, programming, chit-chat so forth) forum and click on new thread. If the thread with the topic already exist, you go into that specific thread, read through the discussions and then post your opinion by clicking on "post reply." Also, there is a search section on the forum, please take advantage of it. In order to search, use keywords and many threads will pop up.
