Mechanical Arm

we have a minibike motor attached to arm, and we would like to know if we can control the arm easier than joysticks. i know there is something like a resistance something or another, but none of us know how to make one or the right name for it.

Re: Mechanical Arm

use a potentiometer. make sure it's at least 100K ohms, though.

Re: Mechanical Arm

You might be able to find a non-stop potentiometer at RadioShack or your favorite overpriced electronics reseller.

If you mount it on the hinge of the arm, you can run voltage through it and use the analog input on the microprocessor.
