401 did. Driving circles around another robot while facing the same direction is an amazing feeling. For me, it's kinda like this:

With tank-style drive w/ omni wheels, it's like.... driving. With mecanum, it's like ballroom dancing.

I would have to completely agree with you. Those gyros get moody, though, and it's not pleasant when you're doing a demo in front of a bunch of kids showing them how holonomic works and the gyro decides to tweak.

We were considering it, but decided that power and traction would server our purpose much better. If everyone was using mecanum wheels, then we'd want to be able to push everyone around so we ended up using 2 wheel drive with IFI wheels.
