With the wrist and claw the arm is less than 7 pounds.
Let me say this about our arm, it can go high enough that it badly damaged a ceiling fan (11-12 feet up, I might add--this robot will certainly be capable of scoring ringers on the high goal!) set to high speed. The arm was completely undamaged, but a team mentor spent several hours attempting to bend the brass fittings of his fan back into shape. By the way, the arm is constructed out of foam and fiberglass. Last edited by Martino : 21-02-2007 at 14:30. |
