Re: Team 2191's Robot!!

Yes they're plastic lawnmower wheels, we used them because they were an inexpensive wheel, and would give us the right amount of traction for the carpet surface. We didn't want too much traction at the same time either. They were recommended by a local team with more experience in the FIRST challenges.

Thanks. We're actually competing about 5 minutes from our High School in Trenton, NJ at Sovereign Bank Arena.

Lucky. We're an hour, hour and a half or so, but to be virtually right next to the arena is pretty sweet. As much as I know the answer, I have to ask: Did you have to ship your 'bot with FedEx/bring it to a Dreyage place, or did you just bring it straight to the arena? Bringing it to the arena would make way more sense, instead of shipping it away and then bringing it right back.

Re: Team 2191's Robot!!

We're only five miles away from the arena, and we weren't allowed to transport the robot ourselves. I believe that it's in the rules that it was required to transport the robot through the shipping service.

Re: Team 2191's Robot!!

That's what I figured... it just seems kinda silly (for efficiency and the conservation of fuel & energy- thinking green!!) that you ship it away, only to have it brought back.
