Re: Where's Dean?

Agreed!

From my understanding, he was going to be speaking to them in a closed session where it's supposed to have the most impact.

Let's hope that's the case...

He's on CSPAN right now, and doing an incredible job.

Hopefully the video will be archived on the CSPAN website later.

Lenyaw is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Where's Dean?

One of our mentors was asked if he knew who Dean Kamen was by a business acquaintance and they mentioned he was coming into town for a fundraiser. This conversation lead to an exciting opportunity for the local FRC teams.
Dean will be visiting Columbia, South Carolina on Tuesday, February 27. An FRC Team Forum is planned followed by a reception and speaking presentation at the University of South Carolina, College of Engineering and Information Technology.
All South Carolina FRC teams have been invited to send five team members to attend the FRC Team Forum, Dean's reception, and speaking presentation.
We are all very energized at the opportunity to hear & meet with Dean in person & look forward to this coming Tuesday.

This is an important group for FIRST!

We caught a little bit of the broadcast this afternoon on C-SPAN live. It will be rebroadcast on the channel at 2 a.m. - he was hard hitting and to the point that every state should incorporate FIRST into every school. He also said there will be $12 million in scholarships given out this year!!!!! It was a fascinating meeting to listen to - innovators in inspiration and education telling the governors what their constituents really want, to have students achieving better in school and to inspire innovation for the betterment of all, now and not someday!

Oh, and I saw Mildred there (or someone who could be her twin!) milling about with people at the very end of the meeting. Can we get a copy of this piece to use for contacting people?

Set your VCRs, DVRs, and TiVOs, people...2 a.m. EST on C-SPAN !

Robyn
