Question Power supply for EDU-RC

I have a 2004 EDU-RC without any type of documentation or anything. Could anyone tell me what the differences are for power supply in that thing? Does it pull all its power from the 7.2v backup battery? Also, it has 4 pin PWM outs, unlike the regular 2004 controller. Would I link a 3-pin PWM cord only onto the top three, or do I need an adapter?

THANK YOU MUCH
