Videos of Team 1636's Robot(YouTube)

Our New OI Board: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPYtGzRGnpQ
This one is just because our team is excited that our OI board isn't just a piece of plywood with everything zip-tied on.

First Jack Lift: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hc9-El7nVk8
This is a video of the first jack lift we used. It worked out okay but it shook too much.

Final Jack Lift: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHlEOxClyUQ
This video is the jack lift we finally found that would not make the motor shake violently. This jack was also better because for 1" the jack went up, the tip of the arm went up 14".

First Full Test Drive with Drive Train, Jack Lift, and Arm Extension: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE3uRin3j8c
This is a video of our robot finally getting to drive around and the programmer trying to score.

Robot Scores: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJ_hg9P3GUU
A robot view of it scoring.

AS heavy as the arm is(since it's a garage door opener), the mass of the robot's chassis keeps the center of gravity away from the toppling point.

Aren't you worried that the vibration of the jack lift will damage the CIM motor?
Please use a chain tensioner, or at the very least purchase an offset link from McMaster-Carr (cheap since you only need one).

We're not that worried about it. The jack lift on our 2005 bot still works perfectly and we've ran that thing every week or since 2005 and the jack lift for that bot shakes the motor a lot more violently then 2007. The only thing we're worried about on the 2007 bot's jack lift is the gear tooth sensor. OUr biggest worry on our bot I would say would have to be the ramp(the decision to get rid of it or not). My opinion would to be get rid of it because the angle for the alliance bot to get up is way too steep but we'll see on the practice day, we haven't officially tested it with the friction tape on it.
