Sponsor Banners (RIP)

Is it me or does anyone else out there think that the Sponsor Banners looked way better than the new screens w/Power Points of the sponsor logos they had at BAE. I don't know if they moved to this setup at all the regionals but at BAE they replaced the old sponsor banners with two screens on either side of the smaller screens that just played a power point of the sponsor's logo. I don't know maybe I hate change but I do think that this setup looks cheesy compared to the nice classy professional banners. Certainly a small gripe but hey our sponsors deserve their due. Maybe I just hate the increasing "PowerPointization" of our culture.

Re: Sponsor Banners (RIP)

At VCU they had the banners on either side of the main screen, which also did the sponsor slide-show during downtime.

Re: Sponsor Banners (RIP)

I did notice that something was different, but I never figured it out. The banners were it. yes, I did prefer the banners.

The usual banners were used at the NJ Regional.

The projector based banners are a pilot that First is trying this year. From what I heard they will be tested at a few regionals this year.

Despite having the banners, I was upset that they decided to constantly switch back and forth to the powerpoint running through the sponsors. It would have been nice if they left the cameras focused on whatever spirited teams were dancing, robots being set up, the MC announcing, or even just an overview of the field as things were getting ready for the next match instead of just seeing sponsors.
