Re: Congratulations BAE GSR Woodie Flowers Award Winner - Dan Larochelle

I would like to send congratulations to Dan as well for taking home the Woodie Flower's Award at BAE. Every mentor in FIRST probably deserves this award but Dan has done some pretty amazing things throughout his years with FIRST. I first knew Dan when I was working at a little company called Light Machines in Manchester he was there as well and helping to run another Manchester High School's FIRST team (Memorial HS) I happened to be on the West High team at the time, in those days a potential spy ;-) Later we knew each other from River Rage and seeing each other frequently at competitions. Fast Forward to a few years ago when, as I understand it, Dan became involved with the Trinity team (40). It has been pretty impressive to me to watch Trinity rise and Intelitek as well with the introduction of EasyC as well as Trinity's hosting of their "mini-FIRST" event using Vex robots, and continually producing solid machines and success on the playing field. Personally, I think it's a really great story. I know there are a lot of great people over on Team 40 both mentors and I am sure kids as well but I am confident that Dan has played his important part. So congratulations to Dan for Woodie Flowers and congratulations to Team 40, Intelitek and Trinity HS for a great partnership that continues to yield great success and benefit the entire FIRST community.

Congratulations!

Justin

Re: Congratulations BAE GSR Woodie Flowers Award Winner - Dan Larochelle

It's really hard for me to express how happy I am to see that Dan has been recognized for his efforts. It is truly amazing to see this man in action, like I have over the past four years. He has changed the face of team 40, the lives of many of the students on the team, and even FIRST as a whole. But above all, he doesn't seek recognition, it just seems to follow him where ever hes goes.

Congratulations Dan!

Thank you all for the WFA. It is a great honor to me and something every mentor strives for. Woodie Flowers is someone I look up to and he inspires me to always be better. I would like to thank my team for nominating me, especially Dan Brady, Jessica and Joe. I work with a great bunch of hardworking and dedicated students and mentors on team 40 and it makes doing FIRST a ton of fun. I share this award with my entire team. Thank you!

Re: Congratulations BAE GSR Woodie Flowers Award Winner - Dan Larochelle

I also have to post up a reply saying how happy I am for Dan to finally win this award. I was very sad that I couldn't be there to see him receive it, but I just can't express how happy I am for him. Unless you've seen him in action you just can't describe the energy and perseverance Dan puts into FIRST, expecting and pushing for the best from every single one of his students (and mentors!!). There is no such thing as "just good enough".
All in all he makes every single person that works with him a better person overall. He teaches you where your limits are, and then how to cross that line and go past your limits to do something you probably didn't even think you were capable of.

Congrats Dan!!!!!!!
