Re: Who has successfully THROWN ringers on to the rack yet?

Have any ringers been negated by human players?

not at vcu. there were only a couple of times that spoilers were even on the field. and at vcu, most of the tube scoring was done on your own side, making it pretty much impossible to put a spoiler on it.

For this reason, throwing ringers towards the rack when there are a good number of ringers already on the rack is quite dangerous! The reason is two ringers of the same color on the same spider leg equals no ringers on the spider leg!

To answer the question, I saw a total of probably 5 or 6 ringers scored by human players during GSR (practice matches, qualification matches, and elims). This is actually a pretty low percentage considering how many human players were trying this strategy. So, I would say less than 5% of the thrown ringers were successfully scored on the rack through the act of being thrown.

151 and 166 had the two most successful human players at GSR, in my opinion. Our team hasn't kept track of human player scoring this year, so I don't have any actual statistics.

Re: Who has successfully THROWN ringers on to the rack yet?

Team 166's player at GSR had a particularly consistent flat throw going. She obviously spent a lot of time practicing and the tubes tended not to tilt and veer off like most other throws seen.

Our human player threw one onto the top spider leg to win our first qualifying match 4-2. He also managed to get a couple spoilers over the rack and into the opponents home zone.

the closest thing I've ever seen was a human player throw a tetra onto the top of the rack and have it bounce/fall through the inner spiders all the way to the bottom.

Re: Who has successfully THROWN ringers on to the rack yet?

Our alliance partner 86's human player, Mark, managed to get 2 on [during different matches] during the finals rounds at the Florida Regional this weekend. It was awesome seeing it happen in real time, and later on video.

Re: Who has successfully THROWN ringers on to the rack yet?

i want a ring toss.

lets say at championship, on Saturday during lunch or something, on one of the practice fields. that would be so much fun.

qualifications on all the fields, or we could just do it by team in real game play.

Human Player Skillz Challenge 07: Be there or get tossed

I don't know if we'll need qualification considering i don't think too many people would do it. Maybe we could have it in an around the world type format, winner gets a golden inner tube.

Re: Who has successfully THROWN ringers on to the rack yet?

At FLR, I saw a human player throw a tube that knocked a tube out of the gripper of an opposing robot. How is that for a "spoiler". Anyone else see that happen during a match?

If by "consistently" you mean more than a single fluke, I might agree. But seeing all matches - practice, qualifications, and eliminations - I could probably count all the thrown ringers scored without removing my shoes and socks. I don't think they were all done by the same person.
