Heh... we definitely got to know those ramps in St. Louis, as we got on them in 6 out of 6 matches in the finals.

Kudos to the Digital Goats! The rest of you have to check out this ingenious design, that 829 has put together. I really didn't understand this cam lifting mechanism until I saw it lift our robot. See you at the Armory!

All through the qualifying matches we never had two robots in our alliance capable of climbing a ramp, even one that was only 18 degrees like ours. I was wondering if our design was ever going to get a chance to be tested in battle. When you and 1444 climbed our ramp in that first quarter final match and our robot wouldn’t move, my heart sank. In the video you can see me looking down at the wheels to see if they were turning (and trying to figure out how to blame the AM transmissions for the failure) when the guy from IFI came over and reset our controller and up she went! I almost jumped out of my shoes I was so happy.

Thanks for finally showing that we weren’t crazy.

I have picture on the homepage of our website with 45 and 1444 on us and the referees measuring before giving the Peace sign.

Re: 2007 Boilermaker Regional!!!

Hello to all that are attending the Boilermaker. I believe this will be the WOBOT's (Team 141) maiden voyage to the Boilermaker and we are wondering what to expect. Sounds like in years past this has proven to be fun place to be when the robots take stage. Good luck to all and we are looking forward to making new friends! We had a great time at IRI last year and from the looks of the team list many of the same teams will here. Only a couple more days before we pack the bus!

Based on our experience, you can expect a great event. As with all regionals, you'll see great teams and have a lot of fun.

Like IRI, you'll find one of the best group of volunteers anywhere making the event run smoothly. Maybe they just don't let us see them sweat, but they seem to have more fun putting it on than the participants.

Last year the competition was great. With the help of some awesome alliance partners we brought home our first gold in five years! I hope we get a chance to repeat that performance.

Re: 2007 Boilermaker Regional!!!

I gotta say, last year the Wobots (141) was one of my favorite teams from West Michigan. Looking forward to seeing what you've come up with for this year's competition.

You can check out our website if you want to see some of the things going on.
http://first.purdue.org/boilermakerregional

We'll have some campus and facility tours, a great team social dinner, social activities in the rec center, a ton of great teams to compete with, scholarships to give out, awesome awards ceremonies, awesome volunteers, practice field, a building packed with lots of excitement and cheering, high energy, concessions which I can say are cheaper than most places, and... hmm.. what else.. hopefully everyone will have a fabulous time! I'm not biased or anything though..

Look forward to seeing everyone there!!
Thanks,

Like always, I'm in town because I stayed here for Spring Break and I have a very comfy futon for any ladies who are roadtripping and don't want to pay for a hotel room. I'm 5 minutes to the armory walking since I'm a RA in one of the lovely Purdue dorms.

As one of the home teams for BMR, let me tell all you that I'm psyched about this regional. West Laf may not have too many tourist-y things, but we have the most restaurants per capita in the US!

Re: 2007 Boilermaker Regional!!!

Oh man it’s almost here!

Boilermaker is looking tough with 3 regional champs, 1 runner up, 4 quarter finalist and 2 semi finalists coming to town and 7 seven other teams with one regional under their belts.

I can’t wait to see 1501 and 85’s amazing looking lifters in action, the lollypop licking the competition and a bunch of quality Indiana and Michigan teams in their first contest of the year.

Can anyone imagine how much better 45 will be after another week with their practice bot?

With teams from as far away as California, Puerto Rico and New Hampshire this is shaping up to be the best Boilermaker ever.

Oh and look our for the revised Goat grabber!

Edit: Major apologies to team 166

Looks like the Chop Shop (166) will be representing NH solo at Boilermaker. Not surprising -- it is a long road trip, about 1000 miles.

Congratulations on the Judge's Award and on seeding in the top third at Manchester. No match results are up on the FIRST site; how did your team fare in the eliminations?
