It's my understanding that teams are expected to hang out in the pits at the GWCC between matches at the Dome, and that the 2 are separated by 1/4 to 1/3 mile. In my past experience, no. They only open the stands for 1) Closing ceremonies when teams have to collect their awards and 2) for volunteers going onto the field (and even then you really have to try to get on there even with a shirt and a pass).

The only real way that teams can get onto the field is by going through the tunnel connecting the Dome and the GWCC.
