Victor 883 24v
There has been a lot of conversation about if the victor 883 supports 24v with a 24v fan... both recently and in the past. Just to confirm suspicions (if any), a recent email to IFI robotics reads as follows: (with my name/address blocked out)
--------------------------------- ######, Yes the 883 will operate at 24 with a 24V fan. II was wondering if your victor 883 speed controllers can operate at 24v if I replace the 12v fan with a 24v fan. |

Re: Victor 883 24v
But do the 883s we used to get in previous years in the KOP support 24V operation?

Re: Victor 883 24v
Yes, I believe so. The 883's in the KOP should be the same, unless they are the ones with RED and not BLUE text. The ones with red text lack a central capacitor, and I am not sure as if they support 24v or not.

Re: Victor 883 24v
Eric,
The older Victor 883's that were included in the FIRST kit of parts are not capable of running at 24V. The units will be damaged if 24V is applied. The Victor 883-24V that is available today was a complete redesign of the PCB. Also, are the new 883's different from the old 883's from inside the kit, and if so, what are the changes? Thank You, Eric |
