Dr Joe's Journal -- working title
My Week 3 Look Ahead Thread has been a huge success (Prediction: Veterans take off the gloves in Week 3).
It is seldom that I have such a positive response. Many have asked me to make this a weekly event. I am thinking about it. One problem is that I can't be everywhere at once (yet) and I don't have infinite time. So, if I do this I am going to need help. I am looking for folks who can give me first hand accounts so that I can get a feel for how each regional went. And I need to have data miners. And I need look ahead specialist. and and and... If you are thinking you would like to help me with this, please PM me with a resume (name, e-mail, phone, team affiliation, years in FIRST, biases, experience, what you'd like to do, etc.) Most importantly, tell me what you want to do (which regionals you can help cover, whether you want to do look ahead work or wrap up work, are you a data miner, are you interested in research, etc.) Most will be done through e-mail, but I am sure that I will need to do some work via phone calls. Just like my original post, this is going to be 99% about ENTERTAINMENT. I am not a member of the FFC* What I want from my helpers are INTERESTING ANGLES. Who was robbed? Which team dominated? Who broke at exactly the wrong moment? Who was brilliant? Are there interesting tidbits my readers need to know (rookie breaks a bolt and victor catches fire just before the judges give them the XYZ award, Team X brought the house down with their cheering, etc.) If you think you have the right stuff and are willing to help, I want to hear you make your case. I may want you on my team. Joe J. *FIRST Fairness Cult |

Re: Dr Joe's Journal -- working title
Okay, I have a number of folks who have signed up to help but I still don't have enough reporters to cover the regionals this weekend.
So far I ahve IN, MD, MI, & CT covered. I need someone to get us good reports. I am going to be setting up an invitation only Forum that will let us plan are this publications. This is going to be a work in progress so don't expect too much too soon. We are working out the details. But, as I say, we need more help right now. While we are at it, why don't folks suggest better names for the publication. Here are some thought starters: FIRST & TEN FIRST Voices FIRST Tattler FIRST Wrap The Arm Chair FIRSTer FIRST Countdown Joe J. |

Re: Dr Joe's Journal -- working title
I think the title would be best if it simply described what it is.
My idea: Picking Favorites. |

Re: Dr Joe's Journal -- working title
Look at every single one of the teams he mentions and try to come up with a valid argument against them.
