Re: 2007 Chesapeake Regional - Discussion

Team 1727 congratulates all members of the Baltimore Area Alliance for the great job done at the Chesapeake regional. The BAA - now comprised of ten teams - received the Regional Chairman's Award, the Engineering Inspiration Award, one regional finalist, and had 6 teams in the finals!

Go FIRST BAA!

Those finals matches had us working hard, what a way to finish the regional.

Good luck to all qualifying teams in Atlanta

Yeah Mr. Tucker, I agree entirely. There was that control/field/whatever malfunction that really dropped us, but we had fun, and still were about the middle, so I'm happy. Now we just need another Pedro next year, huh? But really, we've got the practice, so we can, in the words of Shelby, "ROCK Atlanta" I'm looking forward to it.

And the dance off was ridiculous! I can't wait to get the videos James took and get them up. I'll be sure to post them! Plus all the conga lines, chanting, and LIMBO! This was an absolute blast, and I'm having a hard time remembering a prouder moment than when we ran down past all the judges, amidst everyone, to get our award. It was great!

Now on to my massive make-up workload...

Re: 2007 Chesapeake Regional - Discussion

Congrats to teams 293, 203, and 75 on the win. Great job guys, awesome plays out there.

Just one thing I want to ask other teams that were on the red side of the field, particularly station 3. Were you getting any interference in your controls during the beginning of each match? Our robot's left side was out during the first 20 seconds each match in that station. We notified the radio guys about it, and they insisted it was our programming, though in all of our system checks, there was no such error.

Just wondering if anyone else had similar problems, or if it was indeed unique to our robot.

Re: 2007 Chesapeake Regional - Discussion

username115, we had a problem, too, though it was on the blue alliance, and I think it was the same station 1886 had to have three restarts on yesterday. Our ramps refused to drop, and one of our joysticks wouldn't register. We got a similar response. But, these things happen, and it's over, so we can't do much now, right? So let it go. Not much else to do.

And Shadow, you've got to let me know as soon as that loads!

Re: 2007 Chesapeake Regional - Discussion

@Spark Hawk

yeah, I know it's over, too bad too, I wish we were headed to another regional, but sadly, we aren't. This is my senior year, and I feel I got a lot out of it. I really just wanted to know if it was a mistake on our end. I like feeling that the team was able to build a successful robot with as few problems as we could get away with. just something I can go back and congratulate the team on for a job well done. Considering that about half of our team is graduating this year, I want to leave the rest with a feeling like they can continue to be successful in coming years.

Re: 2007 Chesapeake Regional - Discussion

Oh. Well, we've got a few graduating seniors, too, and many were subteam/team heads, so I can relate to that. But I'm just a sophomore, so I've got 2 years left. Good luck with whatever you do after this. We're going to the Nationals, because we signed up, so we've still got one more adventure left before the team changes.

Re: 2007 Chesapeake Regional - Discussion

Despite some major difficulties with getting our robot to operate correctly, I personally had a lot of fun and learned a lot this year. I especially want to thank all of the teams that took the time to help us out, it really is appreciated.

It's a shame I didn't get involved in the FRC earlier, this year was such a blast. Hopefully team 1820 will take what we learned and become a real competitor next time around

Re: 2007 Chesapeake Regional - Discussion

Hey all. Just got off a 4 hour bus back in NJ.

I am so happy for the team. We last won a championship in 2000, so it was great to finally win one again. I had to come back from college to finally get a championship under the belt and it was a lot of fun.

The drive team did an amazing job coming from behind in the quarter finals, and dealing with the yellow card. I would say we improved after the card came out.

The scouting team also gets a big high five, we fill 2, 3 inch binders with scouting info, plus several databases with information. Its truly an amazing site to behold in action.

The pit crew did great getting the robot ready for every match, and thankfully we had no major technical or software problems.

Congratulations to our alliance partners 75, and 203. It was a lot of fun working together.

I am going to England next year for a semester so I won't get to work with my team, or be at Annapolis, so it felt great to see it live.

I hope you noticed that three of the teams at the Chesapeake Regional were from Great Britain. Maybe you could work with one of them, and come back over for the 2008 competition!

Re: 2007 Chesapeake Regional - Discussion

congrats to the 293, 75 and 203

That being said, had our robot hit the ramp all of 1.5 inches to more left we would have been on for another 30pts and victorious in the 1 vs 8 third match. Instead we fell over and lost by two.

O well, stuff happens.

Well played regional every one

Re: 2007 Chesapeake Regional - Discussion

Congrats to the winners, and thanks to everyone who helped make this regional as amazing as we've come to expect it to be. Despite some not so great weather and a near epidemic of teams getting sick (poor Buzz had half their members missing today, including a driver).

Thanks to 836 for picking us and to 204 for playing defense. If it hadn't been for those radio issues in the quarters, who knows how far we could have gone?

I also want to add my congratulations to team 1727 for winning the Chairman's Award. They are a truely impressive and inspirational team. I wonder how many other second year teams can say they've won a Chairman's Award. It was well deserved.

Good luck to all who are representing the regional in Atlanta, and I hope to see you all back next year at Chesapeake!

Thanks Steph, your team has been a huge help these past two years, we could not be where we are today without your efforts.

I hope you can make it out to the Championship!
