Re: Who has successfully THROWN ringers on to the rack yet?

I am the Human player for Team 250 and found it very successful to throw the tubes at the rack making 4 throughout the RIT regional 1 that helped advance us into the semi finals.

Re: Who has successfully THROWN ringers on to the rack yet?

Someone on the blue alliacne in one of the final qualifying matches scored a ringer at the UTC Connecticut Regional today and I believe it really helped them out in the end... they were able to make a row of 4 [I believe]

Re: Who has successfully THROWN ringers on to the rack yet?

Today at Chesapeake, there was a great human player score in the Finals. 293 and 75 were scoring like crazy on the top row. They were up to about six in a row when out of nowhere comes a ringer from an opponent human player (1748, 612, and 339) that landed on the top row next to the string of six.

The human player ringer didn't make a difference in the outcome of the match, but it was great to watch from the stands. The timing and placement were priceless!

Others who were there might be able to elaborate on this.

Re: Who has successfully THROWN ringers on to the rack yet?

Yeah, I was the one who threw that ringer on in the finals at Chesapeake. I saw the other alliance taking control of the top row, (and definitely didn't want them to complete the row), and with the little time remaining I took aim and went for it. With enough power to compensate for the deeper throwing angle needed for the top row...and with some luck...it went on. It felt amazing and the crowd just erupted.

Re: Who has successfully THROWN ringers on to the rack yet?

I am a human player for team 1727 and I successfully threw a ringer onto the bottom row at the beginning of the match and had a few near misses. It is not impossibly, but yet improbable for a human player to score this way. The human players job is not to score, but yet to assist their or their alliances robots score.

In the finals, our human player threw a tube that neatly landed square on a top spider. This was about ten seconds into the round.

Re: Who has successfully THROWN ringers on to the rack yet?

You should have seen our human player on Thursday.

Throughout the day she managed to score 5 on the rack. In one match, she scored two in a row. And today she scored twice.

We would have lost that third quarter final match without her.

You wouldn't believe how many compliments we got from other teams about our human player.

Re: Who has successfully THROWN ringers on to the rack yet?

our robot, on several occasions during practice hours, was able to fling tubes onto the rack... via a throwing motion of the arm, combined with a pneumatic thruster and releasing the gripper. It was pretty neat, though we never got a video...

We have found it far more efficient for our HPs to just throw the tubes in front of our robot, so we just do that.

That was a great throw. We were trying to hang the 7th ring and out of nowhere the 8th spot was filled. Great job!! I take my hat off to you.

A longtime FIRSTer said last night "That was one of the best human player moments in the history of FIRST." Actually, she said it better, but you get the idea.
The timing was perfect.
The stands went wild.
