2007 best tube scorers

So, theres a thread about ramps. How about the rest of us? Who is your favorite picker/placer (and no, you can't glorify your own team, as much as we all would like to)

If theres a picture of them, go ahead and post a link, also team # and regional that they attended

I'd like to start this with the TechnoKats, team 45 has another solid robot. Saw them at both St. Louis and Boilermaker, hopefully we'll get to go to 'nats and see them again, look forward to seeing them at IRI.

Re: 2007's best tube picker/placers?

I give major props to Team 100. Their grabber was amazing. It could pick a tube up quicker then any other robot at SVR. They were also very efficient with placing tubes as well...

Re: 2007's best tube picker/placers?

To name a few: Sparx 1126 was amazing at FLR. They had a very innovative gripper, and were extremely fast, even with one defensive bot on them at all times.

Obviousley 148 and 217. Hopefully everyone has seen the videos from St. Louis, these guys are offensive monsters.

EDIT: Speaking of Offensive monsters, I don't know how I forgot about Simbots, Team 1114, I have seen video of these guys and they are the real deal, they are one of the best teams in FIRST, and deserve tons of recognition even if you haven't seen them. Check out video of these guys in action as soon as it's up

And as long as we are on the subject of videos, I hope everyone has seen episode 5 of American Robot. The RhodeWarriors haven't even competed yet, but they are going to be a force to be reckoned with, guaranteed.

I'll tell you one thing, as far as guarantees go, team 195, the Cyber Knights were one of the best scorers I saw on the UTC webcast, and I hope they make it to Atlanta again this year.

As long as we're talking about UTC and 195, how about their alliance partners! The Uberbots, team 1124, was one of the fastest cappers at UTC. I hope they find a way to Atlanta as well.

I'm sure I could list of 25 more teams, but for now, I will leave it at this.

Actually, speaking about 25, they were decent too

I agree with this as well. Team 100 has an amazing robot and I was really amazed by its performance.

I also want to say that team 987 did wonderfully at SVR this weekend.

Well thank you for that, and yes team 1124 the Uberbots was probably my favorite cappers/picker uppers(is that right? w/e) it was done so quick and they didnt even need to force the tubes on, they always caught when dropped.

TOP GROUP
1114-This is by far the best bot I have seen, it loads and scores faster than anyone else, and the drive train is pretty sick as well.

67-Another great hanger, these guys are flying high was again.

1503-These guys are great and they can really score

217-Everyone has already picked them, but they are very good

2ND BEST
469-New claw has them scoring big time now
503-They are a strong scorer and are very sneaky.

330, at least from what i have seen. love it and the WAVE ahahaha. I think the single joint arm is the most simple and best arm design i have seen. the wave claw just adds that touch of the Beach Bots. Not to mention that design won them the pre-ship scrimmage for SCRRF and the Los Angeles Regional. Definitely one of my favorite teams and friends.

Re: 2007 best tube picker placers

I would have to say that 25 has an extremely efficient and quick scoring mechanism.. and their 8 wheel drive doesn't help much in pushing them.

Of course, i cant go without saying that team 195 has a great mechanism as well- we worked together fluidly in some of those matches.

1622, the Spyders, and team 399, the only team to out-ringer us at L.A. in a match (undefended to double teamed, though)

Re: 2007 best tube picker placers

From a midwest point of view and leaving my team out, I would say that 111 and 71 have awesome ringer handling capabilities. 111's arm is amazing and 71 is quick to pick up ringers.

Re: 2007 best tube picker placers

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned 56 yet, they are competing at NYC as I type, however they are right now the team to beat. They are 8-0 right now and have had the match performance to prove it. In the short time I was at the regional yesterday I saw them score 136 points all by themselves (their alliance partners didn't even show up). They were at FL too, but by what I've seen they look like a real powerhouse right now.

Another team I have to give props to is 114. These guys had a great setup and scored very consistently. Apart of that, the other scoring teams that stand out from SVR weer 254, 100, 852, 668, and 987. Congrats to all and good luck in your next regionals.
