2007 best tube scorers

I dont know why it works so well, but it does hold and cap quite well.

I'll go with team 65 (huskie brigade) as a good capping robot as well.

I'm also a fan of 71's gripper. I think there are a few things that would quickly improve it in small ways, but it does a good job scooping tubes up, and a decent job capping too.

From the pictures, I noticed that 25's manipulator was very similar to 1746 (Otto), who we were allianced with for the Peachtree finals. They held the ringers from the inside, just like 25....the weak spot in the design, at least 1746's, was that they couldn't always hold on to the ringers when getting knocked around. Still a great design, and one of the top scorers at Peachtree.


EDIT: 1369, who won Peachtree, was also a solid scorer.

Some of my favorite Tube robots from Boilermaker are:

45 - Technokats
(wow....brakes once they get on the lift) Kyle Love, you da man getting on in QM 69 with a robot in your way! video

234 - Cyberblue
is so fast and have brakes too once they get on the lift.

868 - TechHounds
the fastest tube picker-upper in Indiana, love the gripper then shoots the tube on the spider with self centering.

868 drive team, you guys have the best attitude of students I've ever met so far. Keep up the great work.

Did anyone else have/see any lists of average ringers scored per round? At Peachtree, 1533 (Triple Strange) had a very nice data table showing all the scoring bots and their average number of ringers per round. If I remember correctly, 1261 had an average of 4.0, 1369 had an average of 3.8, and 1746 had an average of 3.6.

Does anyone else have a rotating base (base of their arm)? 537 has attending one regional and we were the only ones their that could rotate our arm 360 (its actually more like 450 total). It was a great asset while we were being defended by other teams.

CyberBlue's arm rotates about 30º in either direction.

Yes, the CircuitRunners (1002) had a chain-driven rotating arm...I'm not sure about their range of motion, though.

I'm going to have to say Team 75 and Team 25 [based off of the NJ Regional] and team 56 and 375 are doing pretty well 2with their's at the NYC Regional. I may add another one or two after Long Island So for now, my favorite are (in no order) 75, 25, 56, 375

Thanks! I'll have to pass that on to them, I know they'll be extremely pleased to hear it.

I forgot about 148, they're really potent, and 234 was just plain awesome.

I've only seen UTC, but 195 or 1124 would have been my first choices. (I was actually thinking this when alliance selections started, so I was very proud of myself when they won.) 236 was looking very good from what I saw of them. I also really like 716.

If you happen to have been at UTC, you may note that these are all robots that were on the practice field a few times. This has nothing to do with the fact that I spent my entire weekend there (until after the quarter finals), so I didn't see that much of any robots that weren't there very often/ever. I swear.

Team 330 and 1622, already mentioned, are amazing.

I also like the twins, (968 and 254) but no offense to 254, I think 968's driver is a bit better. Still they have a great robot.

I would say that 1736 Robot Casserole was far and away the best tube scoring bot at Wisconsin.
