I'm confused as to why you choose to rank 100 above 114. From a purely statistical point, 114 was ranked higher, and scored more tubes per match. Plus, in our only head to head match, 114 came out on top.

Davis is gonna be fun.

Re: UC Davis Robots

Haha I can't beleive your arguing this. I apologise.. Both 100 and 114 are amazing robots. 100 picks tubesup faster than anyone, but 114 can place tubes under extreme amounts of defense, i know personally, they beat us that way..

Haha is that better =D Good luck to you both at Davis.

100 does look pretty cool though ;-)

Re: UC Davis Robots

i tried to go through here and color all robots we have no info on red, i think the list is as finished as it will be, thanks for everyone who filled stuff out

100 - Very Fast tube placer, stylish too!
114 - Was at PNW, places ring, has very small wheels... they look funny :-P I heard they did really good ar SVR. Quick elevator-esque style lift.
115- double jointed arm, mechanical problems at SVR, should be fixed
295 - Fast Defensive Ramp Bot - seemed to work well at the St. Francis Scrimmage - video
481 - Registered for PNW, not on the standings list, No show?
670- tank treads and an arm
675- ramp bot with strong drivetrain, SF at SVR with 846 and 987
692 - Tube scorer - played at SVR in QF's with 1070 and 254
701 - Awesome driver, IS a quick tube placer. One of our highlight matches from Bayou - We scored 5 almost 6.
751 - Placed 40th at SVR, 1 - 4 - 1
753 - Also was at PNW, good drive train (we have same one), placer didn't work
766 - SVR Finalist - Tube Placer
841 - Registered for SVR, but not on match standings or in rankings, another no show?
852 - Also has same drive train as us, places rings (3.3 average per round?)
955 - was at PNW, places rings, i think they got it working
973 - Placer, though I dont know how they did
997 - has 2 robot pneumatic lifter, seeded 4th and won PNW regional, also has 753's drivetrain
1031 - Also says they were registered but did not show at SVR, might be something wrong with it
1072 - went 4-3-1, Rank 21 at LA
1147 - We saw them at the St. Francis Scrimmage - good defender - no arm - they're working on a lifter system - but hadn't finished it at that time.
1280 - has a ring placer and 2 robot lifter
1323 - Went 1-2-5, rank 34 at PNW
1351 - went 2-5-0, rank 39 at SVR
1359 - had placer, and a 2 robot ramp
1458 - d bot primarily
1662 - Beefy drive train. ; Tube placer
1671 - First regional this year, nothing on their website
1678 - First regional, no info on webiste
1726 - Tube placer. Finalist at AZ, averaged 3.6 tubes/match
1960 - has ring placer, no ramps
2035- tube placer
2063 - First regional, no webiste
2073 - First regional, no webiste
2085 - Their bot design is for primarily scoring tubes, haven't seen it work though. They had a secondary ramp design, I'm not sure they kept it though.
2156 - Design is for placing tubes but I haven't seen it work though.
2159 - First regional, no website
2189 - First regional, no webiste
2204 - First regional, no website

Re: UC Davis Robots

I like how a 100 vs 114 debate evolved out of this thread

If you want to see us duke it out, and you missed SVR, I can guarantee we will be against them in the first qualifying match of Davis, because the new and not-so-improved algorithm dictates the two lowest team numbers will be against each other in the first match. Last time we were pitched against each other, the rack was almost full by the end, and a spoiler was even used! By far the most offensive and fun match I have ever seen. Can't wait to do it again at Davis!

Didn't miss it, just want to be able to throw popcorn at both teams later. Kidding, you're both awesome .

Re: UC Davis Robots

1960

We did not make it to PNW.... it conflicted with a VEX/FLL tourney that weekend... i cancelled... and signed up for Davis... long ago! Davis will be our only venue this year... unless......

We have rebounded well from our rookie season last year. We have an unfinished robot that sits in a crate. i posted on that topic earlier in this forum.

I mentioned earlier that i may need some help programming our bot upon arrival. I don't have much in the name of a programming dept. for our team. is there anyone that will help if i am in a pinch??? ... we are using "easy c".

As for our BOT.... it has the potential of hanging some tubes... we'll see if we can unleash that potential! It doesn't have ramps.

Good luck to all... and we'll see you soon!

I'm sure our programmer wouldn't mind helping you out there, assuming he has time. I'll ask him next time he comes online. But in case I forget (which I most likely will...) Just drop by our pit, and we'll help out in any way we can.

Re: UC Davis Robots

1960,
I made amendments to the post above, sorry for missing that, must have slipped my mid when i was trying to fill out the rest of the info.
thanks for correcting my error

and on the topic of programming, I PMed someone from your team who posted earlier offering our programmers assistance and said that if you still needed it we would stop by first thing on Thursday and say "hi." I already asked him and he is more then willing to help.

Re: UC Davis Robots

Just letting all the scouts know that today 766 has finally finished prgramming and can now score on all three levels. We also score much more quickly as now the box pperator and my self have gotten used to our new presets so we should score 4-5 defended, and 6-7 undefended. Any more questions about the bot just ask me in the pits. I am the one with our OI usually.
