Re: 1511 LabVIEW Scouting Database Release

I know that I love it! And I am not just saying that. It is really easy to use and conveinent. I think its one of the more efficient ways of match scouting I have seen. I would put it on my laptop, but I dont have labveiw currently. But honestly, its a really good tool.

Re: 1511 LabVIEW Scouting Database Release

*THAT* is sweet. I saw some guys at Nationals last year using LabVIEW to run a scouting program (I don't know what team was doing it, sorry if you were the ones!) and I thought it was awesome.

Our usual statement is, "We prefer you provide VI's to everyone so everyone can see how you did things, and everyone can install LabVIEW and modify the files themselves." However, for something like this, installing the full development suite onto scouting computers can be a bit cumbersome. If you want to PM me, I will make you an installer package out of your VIs that will install this tool onto your computer and won't require having the full development suite of LabVIEW to run it...

-Danny

PS: You can do this with the Application Builder, which only comes with the LabVIEW Professional Edition.

Re: 1511 LabVIEW Scouting Database Release

Thanks everyone, this is actually our first year creating a scouting database using LabVIEW. We had plans to do it last year but due to lack of time it just didn't happen. I guess the reason I released it the way I did was so that other teams could look into my code and tweak things and make it their own. I was looking mostly to use it as a example of what you can do with LabVIEW when I teach the students on the team how to use more. I would like to make a installer package for it but I didn't have the application builder. Danny, I will PM you soon about this.
Thanks again everyone for your interest
