Re: 2007 San Diego Regional

As a follow up to a previous thread where I took a photo of each crate at the SD Regional, I took a picture of each pit when no one else was around. Some of them were quite orderly. This was on friday morning if anyone wonders.

The photos reside:

Re: 2007 San Diego Regional

Thanks shane. That match was our toughest against you. Good strategy change to block our alliance partners from getting back to our platforms. almost had you if we had had one more second for the motor to run in the second match...oh well.
awsome elimination round, crazy finals in SD. 1717 was proud to be partnered with kikamana and beach city.

Re: 2007 San Diego Regional

heh... i remember during that last match when we blocked (i think) 368 from scoring and then beach bots capped that last goal. then 368 came out with a spoiler while we were scoring low, my arm operator started shouting SPOILER!!! and i looked to see 368 trying to spoil our row so i dashed over there and pushed those joysticks as far as they could go to try and get you guys to miss the spoiler...

but anyways, that was a great final round! Thanks to 330, 835, and 1216 for the win!

Re: 2007 San Diego Regional

Team 1717 was proud to be there as well and compete in what nust have been some of the most thrilling and nervewracking finals and semifinals matches in the nation this year.

We finally got our lifts perfected and lifetd 18 other 'bots in 10 qualifying matches and the two which we didn't lift were disabled during our matches by FIRST so they had no power to make it back to our robot to be lifted so we lifeted every robot possible in every qualifying match.

BIG BIG BIG props go out to 330 696 and 835 for an epic finals match and for preventing our alliance teammates from accessing our ramps - awesome startegy guys. Those matches were unbelievable, go out there and show atlanta that us southern claifornia teams are the real thing

Thanks to everyone there for an amazing competition.

It was tons of fun. You gave us a good run there. Your gas shock lifts are awesome. Tell Amir I say hi.

Re: 2007 San Diego Regional

Those finals were very intense matches indeed, I was shocked that our robot was still driving after all of those pushing matches, and our front and back bumpers have been totally destroyed. We also did a lot of damage to other robots as well...Of course, it helps that our base was partly designed by a very successful battle bot competitor.....

Re: 2007 San Diego Regional

Great job everyone. Though it was not one of the greatest years for 599, we had a good time. Sorry we wont be going to Atlanta, werent able to qualify, good luck to the teams that are. Big shout out to 1266, great job. When I arrived early on friday to help set up FIRST Aid and the Machine Shop I told Joe Acker I had a hunch, and I was right. Great job 812, you guys are an amazing team as well. As for 330, 696, and 835, congrats. BeachBots, just go out there and win another World Championship so that people will finally recognize the greatness the West Coast brings that everyone else overlooks.

599 is going back to the drawing boards to make sure we dont have a repeat of this year's results, regarding the robot that is. Hope to see everyone next year. Great regional and glad to be the winner of one of SD's first Judges Award.

Re: 2007 San Diego Regional

That was a great regional. I loved the location. There was a Home Depot was across the street, our hotel was also across the street, and all the resturants were in walking distance.

Congrats to 330, 696, and 835 for winning. And congrats to 368, 1717, and 294 for making it to the finals, you were a tough alliance to play against.

Regional opening ceremonies were amazing. Never had that much fun at a regional. It was alot of fun even though we didn't compete, left all the team 4 members who went down really excited for vegas.

Re: 2007 San Diego Regional

Hey all...

Just want to say congratulations to all the teams at the San Diego Regional. The event went great...and in all honesty, didn't even feel like a rookie regional (and I've been to my fair share). As a ref (I was the one who sat at the red alliance station and called most of the penalities on the red alliance...but i figured since I got scowled at and hugged...it couldn't have been that bad ) and part of the regional planning committee, I hope that all who participated had a great time. I know I did.

Congratulations again to the everyone involved, especially the winning alliance. Although, I have to admit, when I ref'd the first match on Friday and saw 1717 do their ramp thing...it brought a tear to my eye. And I love the Penguin dance...but now I'm off on a tangent.
