Re: 2007 Championship Divisions

For something truly random for divisions at the Championship they could do it based on when you signed up. Number the teams the way they do now but do it based on when teams signed up for the competition, not just straight down the list in numerical order. Then release the official divisions after the last regional like they do now.

Re: 2007 Championship Divisions

if you do a bracket show, then do AT LARGE TEAMS, forget the wait list and open registration. do at large bids for regionals. proportional to the # of regionals that week.

for example

VCU this year 66 Teams=7 At Large Bids
UCF this year 51 Teams=6 At Large Bids
Waterloo this year 30 Teams=4 At large bids

or do it by capacity

you can therefore take the teams that are already registered and have the money, etc.

i think this is the best way

Judges decide the At Large Bids at the Regionals, or us the viewers through online polls or mentors polls, just like for college football's Coaches poll, maybe a mentor poll or something.

Now that is an idea, do the final division parings on the SUNDAY before nationals

like selection Sunday, and the games don't start till thurs.

Re: 2007 Championship Divisions

I'm a little confused about how many teams can go to Championship. I thought there was a 300 team limit but Ed said the new list is over 300. Can someone explain to me really quick how the number of teams allowed to go is decided? Thanks. (I apologize if this is a dumb question)

Hey guys posting numbers:

I think that if you put the list in a [ CODE ] [ /CODE ] block, it wont mess up your spacing. Just a suggestion.

No such thing as a dumb question (most of the time )

I'm not sure what the exact physical limit is, but I don't believe it's 300--I've seen 330+ teams come to Championships.
