It looks like something big is in the works for the webcast as it sounds like they are going to also be doing some hosted in-depth coverage as well as streaming the live video feed.

Just another reason why GTR rocks... especially in the Pontiac/Chevy dual playing field years!

When I open the link you provided, I get the Discovery chanel page, but the link on that page does not work.

I right clicked on link got it to open. It said we are not allowed to view it because we don't live in Canada. I will tried again tomorrow.

Today was quite boring. I didn't see no ramps used in practice matches. I can't wait until tommarow LOL

1901 climbed 48's ramp in one match, and 48 climbed 1114's ramp in another match when we were opposing each other - we just got finished beating each other up in the first session so we figured we'd cooperate during the 2nd .

Re: 2007 Greater Toronto Regional

Well thanks to Bongle up top our robot is in business. It drives, scores, and I'm pretty happy that we pulled it off...Our claw was a tad sketchy but we got it to work so it's all under control now. Time well spent (or wasted, if you consider the fact we missed all our practice matches, we got some time at the practice area though)

Re: 2007 Greater Toronto Regional

Correct me if I'm wrong but yesterday before my interview with discovery I asked them if it was going to be shown on the webcast. They told me that they weren't feeding a webcast yesterday and they were just rehearsing for Friday/Saturday webcasts/interviews. I think the link should work for everyone today though since its and "official webcasting" day.

Let me know!

Re: 2007 Greater Toronto Regional

I have just spoken to my contact at Discovery Channel. Even if the site says that it is not available outside of Canada, it will be available. They will also be giving me a link if people are having problems. More to come

Those wanting to watch this - it doesn't seem to work in Firefox, so use IE to view the webcast.

Re: 2007 Greater Toronto Regional

I'm curious what do people think of the Discovery Coverage?? I think it could be a good model for future TV coverage. They seem to have the right balance between matches, interviews, and video packages. Also it is not nearly as bad as what I might have been bracing for from NON-FIRST FIRST coverage. Compared with the ESPN coverage (back in the 95,96,97 era) Discovery is much better suited for something like FIRST I think and so far the seem to be doing an OK job.

I'd love to hear the thoughts of the FIRST community on this one,

Justin

Re: 2007 Greater Toronto Regional

Can someone at the event take a picture of the schedule and post it? I want to know when 'my' teams are on without having to intently watch the entire webcast.

edit: especially since discovery is running filler interviews when they are announcing teams.

edit2: Wow, 176 is unstoppable.
