[FVC]: FVC World Championship Team List

This just in, from JoAnn, a FIRST representative.

"watch the FIRST web site for a list of Championship teams - it should appear there today or tomorrow" (FVC)

Also, more important news. Aside from 1 Singapore team confirmed to attend the world Championship, 7 teams from China have officially applied to attend the World Championships in Atlanta. This is not 100% yet, but there is a good chance there will be several teams coming directly from China.

"We have 8 teams from China who are planning to attend, and I've received applications from 7 of them as of this morning. So far, what I know is that we have 2 teams from Beijing, 2teams from Shanghai, 1 team from Nanning City, 1 team from ZhongshanCity and 1 team from Chongqing."

Re: [FVC]: FVC World Championship Team List

the chinese teams just registered, so they will not be on the official list until possibly later. You will see them in the championships.

No idea what happened to the Mexican teams, they may not come?

Re: [FVC]: FVC World Championship Team List

I would expect that the original list is not final. I'm sure they will give international teams every opportunity to overcome any obstacles and come to the event.

Re: [FVC]: FVC World Championship Team List

I was under the impression there would be 4 fvc practice fields, I can only see two on the map (to the left of programming help). Was I mistaken or are there more I'm not seeing?

I think there are a total of 4 fields. 2 practice ones in the pit area and 2 fields in the arena. The quote I think you are confusing is when they said there will be 4 fields to practice on. The formal practice rounds take place in the arena (2 fields) + open practice time on the 2 pit practice fields.

I can't imagine how they are going to run this event with ~100 teams in 1.5 days - it should be a wild scramble!!

I counted exactly 100 pits in the pit diagram, so I'm not sure where the extra 2 teams came from. Where does your count come from?

I don't think that map was 100% accurate. My guess is that he counted the teams on the team list.

My mentor (sovierr) and I checked the championship team list this afternoon on the FIRST website and it lists only 96 teams. We found the 4 teams on the pit list that aren't on the team list.
