wiring pneumatic soleniod valves
Does anyone know where I can find any documents/diagrams about how to wire the pneumatic soleniod valves? I haven't any experience of pnematics but I'd like to use some next year. The First Pnematics Manual shows how to connect the cylinders and release valves up in a great diagram but for the electrics only mentions pulsing the valves.
From what I've read in the forum the valves have to be driven from a Spike relay? Are all of the FRC kit valves driven from a spike? Thanks George |

Re: wiring pneumatic soleniod valves
According to the pneumatics rules, they should all be handled via a spike relay.
How to wire a spike relay based on your needs can be found here: http://www.ifirobotics.com/docs/spik...uide-sep05.pdf |

Re: wiring pneumatic soleniod valves
Here are two very useful resources to consult:
FIRST 2007 Guidelines, Tips and Good Practices (starting at page 34). and FIRST 2007 Pneumatics Manual If you are attempting to wire double solenoid valves, you might check out this thread: How does your team wire your Double Solenoids? |

Re: wiring pneumatic soleniod valves
Thanks guys!
The tips and good practices is particulary useful. I have a really big folder of FRC documents but I still managed to miss the ones I needed. GeorgeC |
