Yes you can unload on wednesday night. I think you get one trip in, and all you are supposed to do is uncrate the robot, and set everything else in your pit. You cannot set up your pit or work on the robot, that has to wait till Thursday morning. Good luck

Re: Unloading

..and one trip only, and once you get in you pull the robot out of the crate and that's all - no unpacking, no setup, nothing. Just put the stuff down and leave it.

If you got more stuff than one trip can handle, then Thursday morning is when that can be completed.

The uncrating crew has typically been permitted to plug in the team's battery chargers.

Re: Unloading

Unless you plan on using your create as a work space in your pit then its better to do it on wens night, on Thursday it will take a while to get the create out of your pit.

When you go in on wens night try to put as much as you can on to dollies or a pit cart or what ever and bring it all in with your 3 people, drop it down in you pit plug in your batteries and have a good nights rest before Thursday.

You are allowed to uncrate on Thursday morning. However, do you really want to spend time uncrating that you could spend working on your robot? How about add one more item to the traffic jams? Have less time to charge your batteries? As you can see, there are advantages to uncrating Wednesday night if you can.

The Wednesday night rules are simple. Three people and whatever they can carry/drag/haul in with them (and at least one person must be an adult) go into the pit. They uncrate and tell shipping that the crate is empty, then check in at Pit Admin for their packet. They leave. Once they leave, they cannot come back in for any reason.

But what if your team is not going down until Thursday morning... arriving in Atlanta Thursday afternoon and maybe (or may not) get to the arena to uncrate the robot :/

You can do that--although I'm not sure when checkin/registration closes on Thursday (I think 12:00 noon), so you might want to send a couple people in the second you can.

Registration and Uncrating
Early Uncrating/Registration: Wednesday, 6-9 p.m.
(Not for Pit Station setup or robot work).
Teams can also register Thursday, 8 a.m. to noon. Form odd and even-numbered team lines for each
division. You will be asked to provide a cell phone number and your hotel name as a part of the team
safety contact process.
Uncrating: Three (3) members, one must be an adult, from each team can uncrate. Each must bring
safety glasses to enter the Pit for this process. We recommend that you wear gloves. When your crate is
empty, notify a Shepard Exposition Services desk representative that your crate is ready for storage.
Note that registration is supposed to close at noon on Thursday. You can uncrate Wednesday night from 6-9 PM.

I'm pretty sure that's the case. Though it might be counted as setting up the pit, in which case you're better off waiting (as pit setup is not allowed). Your choice.
