Re: Potomac Vex League (PVL) Events
PVL folks,
See my post above to see a recap of Friday AND Thursday results. I have been editing yesterday's post to insert today's results into it. I have now reached the 10000 character limit in that one, and consequently I will use this post to track the Vexy Things progress if they get drafted into the finals. With their 3-1-0 record, and their ability to score mass-quantities of balls worthy of a Conehead skit; I am optimistic they will be in an alliance. 3013 Gears of War 2-2-0 Qual Rank = 44 3065 Holy Rollers 1-3-0 Qual Rank = 82 3148 Fight Club 2-2-0 Qual Rank = 45 3317 Robocats 2-2-0 Qual Rank = 61 3549 Vexy Things 3-1-0 Qual Rank = 31 Top Eight Teams and their drafted allies: 1) 2078 2013 2124 2) 2073 3179 2158 3) 2024 40 2160 4) 3053 1114 3230 5) 3198 3541 3218 6) 3402 3549 3531 7) 3050 3649 3652 8) 3399 3228 3290 1 vs 8 (2078 2013 2124) vs (3399 3228 3290) QF 1-1 red 15 (____ &____) v BLUE 83 (3399 & 3228) QF 1-2 red 21 (2078 & 2124) v BLUE 87 (3228 & 3290) QF 1-3 NA v NA 4 vs 5 (3053 1114 3230) vs (3198 3541 3218) QF 2-1 RED 159 (3053 1114) v blue 33 (3541 3218) QF 2-2 RED 78 (1114 & 3230) v blue 36 (3198 & 3218) QF 2-3 NA v NA 2 vs 7 (2073 3179 2158) vs (3050 3649 3652) QF 3-1 RED 70 (2073 2158) v blue 57 (3050 3649) QF 3-2 red 66 (2073 3179) v BLUE 77 (3050 3652) QF 3-3 red 57 (2073 2158) v BLUE 81 (3050 3649) 3 vs 6 (2024 40 2160) vs (3402 3549 3531) QF 4-1 RED 79 (2024 40) v blue 58 (3402 3531) QF 4-2 red __ (2024 2160) v BLUE __ (3549 3531) QF 4-3 RED __ (2024 40) v blue (3402 ____) 8 vs 4 (3399 3228 3290) vs (3053 1114 3230) SF 1-1 red 51 (3399 3228) v BLUE 95 (3053 1114) SF 1-2 red 27 (3228 3290) v BLUE 108 (1114 3230) SF 1-3 NA v NA 7 vs 3 (3050 3649 3652) vs (2024 40 2160) SF 2-1 RED 74 (3649 3050) v blue 70 (2160 40) SF 2-2 105 (3050 3652) v 47 (2024 2160) SF 2-3 4 vs 7 (3053 1114 3230) vs (3050 3649 3652) F 1-1 RED 119 (3053 1114) v blue 44 (3050 3652) F 1-2 RED 129 (1114 3230) v blue 22 (3050 3649) F 1-3 Congratulations to everyone who had fun this season. Congratulations to everyone who learned something this season. Congratulations to everyone who specified, designed, built, integrated, programmed, tested, fielded, operated, maintained, described and improved a robot and a team this season. Congratulations to everyone who did well in the Regional Championships. Congratulations to everyone who made it to the World Championships. Congratulations to everyone who reached the World Championships field of 8 alliances. Congratulations to Occam's Engineers (3053) who won this year's World Championship Inspire award. Congratulations to Hammered Steel (3399) who won this year's World Championship Amaze award. Congratulations to Einstein's Daughters (3626) who won this year's World Championship Innovate award. Congratulations to Tenacious Technicians (3047) who won this year's World Championship Connect award. Congratulations to Smart Lions (2052) who won this year's World Championship Think award. Congratulations to JAWS (3050), Rivited Steel (3649) and ___ (3652) who were on the field for just as long as any other team this first official FVC season. Congratulations to Occam's Engineers (3053), Symbotics (1114) and E.M.P (3230) who won on the field in FVC's first official season. But Hey! Don't put your tools away yet! The Potomac Vex League off-season is just beginning..... We all need to learn how to do something that stumped us or seemed out of our reach during this season (I have a long list). We all need to try unusual, risky, or just plain fun designs in low-pressure just-for-fun scrimmages. We all need to contribute to and attend workshops where we share, teach and learn. A rising tide floats all boats.... We all need to recruit at least one new team member. We all need to inspire more teams to form and support them through their rookie year(s). This year we finished with 559. Next year, let's have at least 1000! Janet Lathn, Terri Wiseman and I look forward to seeing you at the Stonewall Middle School, Lockheed Martin and Potomac Vex League's Roboticon Hangin'-A-Round scrimmage April 21st. I especially want to hear some stories about the experience of going to the World Championships from you who got to attend! We aren't done yet. FVC is just getting started! G.
