Re: prom- how was it?

A group went from my team [1251 TechTigers] and we all had a great time. It was fun just hanging out with various teams and socializing outside of competition for one night - and no Viper37, everyone there was definately there for the RoboProm; if there was another prom going on at the same time, it wasn't in the same location. I hope they have the FIRSTProm again in the future and that more people go - it's worth it.

Thanks team 399 for putting it on!

Re: prom- how was it?

Well i wasnt at the prom, but just to let you guys know Vipers is right there was two proms going on at the same time. They were both at the Westin Hotel so you might have seen the people going to there.

The RoboProm was at the Marriott Marquis Hotel.

I talked to some of the folks in the nice cloths and they confirmed my theory. They said that some of them had their limo's leave them at the Marriott because of traffic in front of the Westin.

But what do I know, Im just making this up..

Re: prom- how was it?

Like Mtrek said before we had about 6 of 176's members go an we all had a fantastic time! It gave us something to do, and it was great socializing with other teams outside of the competition. Personally i thought that was great because you could socialize without hurrying for your next match, or thinking your late. About the music, yes there was a lot requested by people, but thats what they wanted..they wanted us to have fun and listen to the music we wanted. I thought you could dance to 95% of the music that was played..it might have been rap an techno, but thats the kind of music you can dance to easily. I know everyone from my team hardly sat. It was a great time had by most people i talked to, and hope next year it can be done again!

Re: prom- how was it?

I had a lot of fun

The two girls from 845 (cutting edge) that came had a lot of fun also

It was fun that for the first time I could walk around with a PIMP CANE (PVC) and not get things thrown at me for not being "cool" enough or because I was not part of the good dancing crowd.

It felt good to be able to dance how ever you wanted and nobody really making fun of you, that's what FIRST is all about right?

So I hope that next year we can do it again and a special thanks to Brian and all of the people from 399 for all your hard work

sebas
