Re: Graduating Seniors...

Team 102 is losing 4 seniors.
Last year we lost about 5 and gained a little more than 10. Repeating that would be awesome for this year

Re: Graduating Seniors...

Losing 3 students due to graduation. 2 of the three are our captains, and I'm the other one. (Two of the other seniors in the school couldn't continue on the team this year due to time issues. We tried to keep them.) Out of ten students, that's a lot.

Re: Graduating Seniors...

Out of an 11 person team only one is graduating. Next year will be a bigger issue, when 4 or 5 of us graduate. We're really hoping that there will be FLL members coming up to fill the holes.

We have three seniors graduating. Unfortunately, 2 others want to quit and we only had 11 this year...

Re: Graduating Seniors...

Team 1636 is losing 8 seniors out of 21 people, unfortuantely the team was only successful and good due to these 8 seniors since the team's rookie year(except 2, 1 joined this year from moving from California and 1 joined because he finally filled the pre-requisite to join our team).1-3 of the Juniors care and worked hard on the team and 1 sophomore actually did anything for the team. But it doesn't matter anymore, Team 1636 won't be around next year anyway unfortunately.

Re: Graduating Seniors...

Thankfully, 1089's only losing 3 seniors. One very active one, one from a neighbor school, and one who just joined the team this year. Next year will be a heartbreaking loss for us though. =)

6 out of 14 members are seniors. Which includes our programmer, driver, operator, coach, and most of the build team.

Re: Graduating Seniors...

On a strange and unfortunate note, Team 66 will only have 6 members left over this year as approximately 66% of the team is graduating...

For those in similar situations... i guess its time to start recruitment... hmmm....

Re: Graduating Seniors...

Our team is "losing" quite a few seniors, including the Team Founder (me). However, me and one or two others will be attending the University of Minnesota here in the Twin Cities and will be back to help out the team next year!

Re: Graduating Seniors...

Yea, all of our team leadership and the drive team and 90% of the build team is graduating. We'll have 4 members left (2 juniors, 1 soph, and 1 fresh) all of which need to learn how to build a robot on their own... Any other teams in the bay area in the same boat are more than welcome to help out and work together.

Re: Graduating Seniors...

Exploding Bacon is only losing 3 seniors this year...(and one is staying in town for school so we won't lose her completely)

Most of our core members are juniors this year....its their assignment to recruit and train their replacements in the next year. We are lucky that we have middle schoolers on our team so our future is secure.

Good luck to all the graduates. If you are going to college in Florida look us up.

Re: Graduating Seniors...

Luckily Team 228 won't be losing too many seniors this year (I'll be one of them), but the younger members will have some big shoes to fill next year.

Last season our team was in the situation of losing all but about 5 members due to the graduating class. Through an innovative marketing 'strategy' where I brought my Segway to school demonstrations and open houses, we recruited about 20-25 new members to our team for the past school year. (In the previous two seasons, we were usually only able to recruit about 5-10 new members a year.) So if you are ever in a bind for recruiting new members, and if you have access to a Segway, use it!

Re: Graduating Seniors...

Our team has 13 students, 7 of which are graduating this year ...

So we're losing our only programmer, our website designer, our entire graphic design team (I think), our fundraising team, our chairman's award team, our only scout, both our strategists, and over half of the mechanical team. hah yikes. Maybe next year all of us will come back (thus making an extremely overly-mentored team). lolz

Re: Graduating Seniors...

Cyber Blue 234 is losing 8 seniors, but we still have 26 members. The big obstacle we will have to overcome is the fact that our website designer (check it out!), inventor captain, programming brains, electronics girl and guy, graphics designer, foreign exchange student, and team captain (who designed our drive this year) are all leaving! Although 234 has huge shoes to fill, everyone on the team is up to it and is looking forward to another great season!!! It will be so sad at our team banquet in May!!

Thanks to Brian, Jon, Rachel, Warren, Sohaib, Joe, Ariel, and Nathan for all of your hard work this year!
