We all know what the game is going to be. The field is a layer of jell-o, the scoring elements are Krispie Kreames, and all the while red, blue and green lights flash on and off, all underwater.

I agree with the idea of a ball. It seems to me that it makes the most sense. I think it will not be a ball in the way it has been in the past though. It might be a football (which would add variety to the manipulators) or a medicine ball (I think that the weight would ensure that there is more of durability factor and would create more work to keep the robot strong and light). Either of these would greatly increase the difficulty and unique nature of the game.
Just as kwelch, I would be honored if my ideas were used in the next game.

So...we take a square bin, place an inverted tetra in it, into which a medicine ball is placed and the entire set is place on a moving platform. Sweet.

Oh and you have to Assemble the tetra from pieces lying on the field!!!!!

Already been debunked. So has the entire concept of a water game (unless you happen to be in the underwater robotics competition that team 842 is putting on). "Logistical nightmare" sums up half the objections; "electrical nightmare" sums up the other half. For more information, do a search on "water game".

i think its either gonna be balls or tubes....yet i think it will be most likely balls...maybe a hand eye cordination type thing..you know throw it through a tube maybe a moving tube...etc

I don't think they would have the balls again. Cause a couple of years ago, I heard the game with the balls kinda failed

Balls are the most likely suspect. The pattern for the past few years has been balls, something crazy, balls, something crazy, repeat as necessary. Also, it's hard to find something that isn't a ball that is a) available nationwide in the dead of winter (or can be made that way) and b) relatively easy for a robot to handle. That isn't saying that the pattern can't be broken, though. (And the '04 game was designed more for hanging, while the '06 camera scoring system was not implemented very well. Nothing wrong with the cameras, just the software.)
