[FVC]: Hanging Around 2006-2007 best ball scorers

Well, since FRC has a post on the best scorers each year, I thought I might as well make one. Which team did you think did the best ball scoring this year? This does not include hanging or getting the atlas ball. However, it does include high and low goal as well as autonomous ball scoring.

For me, I would have to say team 1114 Simbotics and team 40 Checkmate can score the highest number of balls most consistently. Team 1114's manipulator was slightly slower than team 40, but it was extremely robust and could aid the robot in other tasks. Team 40's pickup speed as well as their basket speed was just amazing. They could fill up the high goal extremely fast. Both 40 and 1114 had nice autonomous modes. 1114 picked up the stack in front of them and scored it. 40 scored their preloaded balls and picked up the stack behind to score again.

Also, a couple of other teams I thought were exceptional were
3053 - great consistent fast ball scorer
3179 - very nice autonomous (picks up two stacks), also great scoring
3549 - wow thats a lot of balls they can hold and pickup
3402 - Mexican team! they were awsome

Also 3050 was a pretty good low goal scorer.

So which teams do you feel scored balls the best this year?

Re: [FVC]: Hanging Around 2006-2007 best ball scorers

Our team (s.p.a.m. #3228) scored 20 balls in operator mode in the first match of the quarter-finals against the 1st seeded team (we were 8th seed).

In autonomous we scored 2-6 balls in every match. (of course except for the match described above, the only one we didnt score any, because of bad placement of the robot).

Our average wasn't very good though, we had a VERY rough thursday after an all-night drive (11 hours) on a bus wednesday night. Along with a couple of poor decisions and bad alliance partners, we had a low ranking (51 and 2-2) after all qualifications were done.

Re: [FVC]: Hanging Around 2006-2007 best ball scorers

Was a score of 200 or more scored at the Atlanta Championship?
I dont remember seeing anything about a high score.

I think Simbiotics #1114 did it in an alliance at one of the Canadian Regionals.

Re: [FVC]: Hanging Around 2006-2007 best ball scorers

simbotic's highest score in the GTA regionals was 172 - 0 facing the number 8 alliance in quarter-final 1-1.

I don't believe there was a score higher than 200 at nationals.

Re: [FVC]: Hanging Around 2006-2007 best ball scorers

40 was awsome at scoring thats why they we're my 1st pick. 1114's hang was incredibly fast, i think they were off the ground in 2 seconds then they raised up even more. i didn't see alot of matches with the atlas ball handling robots but i know from my regional that 3289 was great at doing the hold the atlas ball and score combo.

my team personal had a high score of 165 in qualification and a 104 in semifinals at regional

Re: [FVC]: Hanging Around 2006-2007 best ball scorers

We FVC 2160 Were not too bad ourselfs. We were rather consistant with scoring and had a high winning score at Atlanta of 138.

We were able to average around 3-6 balls in autonomous

And 15-20 balls in RC mode

Re: [FVC]: Hanging Around 2006-2007 best ball scorers

If the question is small balls, the answer (to me at least) is 1114. Perhaps their manipulator wasn't as fast as 40's, but they had something that let them get metric tons of balls up in the high goals. The balls you see in the foreground of that picture are all from just one goal. There were plenty more where that came from.

That said, the more consistent setup seemed to be the lifted-basket approach of Checkmate, Vexy Things, SHIRT, and so on. With a fast-enough pickup mechanism and a large-enough hopper, field ownership was not impossible.

Re: [FVC]: Hanging Around 2006-2007 best ball scorers

Our alliance (3053 and 1114) scored over 170 at least twice during the elimination matches. I wish I could remember exact scores, the experience was just so surreal that I can barely remember anything. Which is quite unfortunate.

Really? From looking at the videos, the highest score I could find was quarterfinal 2-1 of (159 - ??). But perhaps I missed something, do you remember which match you scored over 170?
