Re: You know you've overdosed on FIRST when...

... you go to Virginia for the NASCAR races and every time you see a team number, you either take a picutre of it or yell out the team name... [this photographer had on a 103 ID bib... couldnt help but say "woooo cybersonics"]

... you're engineering teacher says, "oh my gosh ashley. you aren't wearing a robotics shirt today... gotta be the first time in like a month. are you feeling ok or something??"

EDIT: ...you just realized your post number is at 303 and your first thought was, "Bridgewater!!! Now I must change the post I just made and add this..." and then you do =]

Re: You know you've overdosed on FIRST when...

...when your parents ask after build season if they need to cook food again.

...when you realize that macaroni and cheese and bratwursts are essential food groups, and Dr. Pepper has more caffeine than Mountain Dew.

...when you can't wait for the next regional to see if you can finish your button-mail armor.

...when you keep playing "One Day More" from Les Miserables the last week of build season.

...when the people around you start saying, "We know you're a nerd! You can stop playing 'The Cantina Band' already!"

...when said people say the same thing about the Badger Song.

...when Magic, the Gathering gets into Robotics. (For those who know...Coalition Victory. Look it up.)

...when you can name something "Sexy Lexy," and get away with it. (Lexan.)

...when you start passing notes in class written in C++.

...when you ask someone for an Allen wrench, and they always hand you the one you want. (5/16ths. Every time.)

...when a band director will retract a comment against the robotics team for fear of starting a revolt.

...when summer vacation is not considered a welcome relief, but nerve wracking as one waits to check on the robotics room.

...when noobs are a good thing for next year's team, as we are losing half of it, including me, to aging out- sorry, graduation. (Where did I pull that drum corps reference?)

...when Legos suddenly become cool again as a senior in high school.

...when your school is hosting Band and Orchestra Festival the weekend of the GLR, and you split the difference between them.

To be continued...

Hey-- You would too if the principal said "Amanda Morrison and Andrew Baker please report to the main office"...!

You write an english paper about robotics.
You draw a picture of a robot on multiple IB exams.
Your chemistry teacher bans robotics related conversations.

Re: You know you've overdosed on FIRST when...

...your third big test in two weeks (this time AP Language and Composition) somehow manages to include robotics... again... (regarding the topic of charity and incentives)

...when your spanish teacher, (who just happens to have a thick japanese accent) introduces a new term "dudar", and the three robotics members can't stop laughing for the remaining twenty minutes of class, coming up with phrases such as Juan Dudas... and no me dudas... lol...

whatever would we all do without John Dudas

Re: You know you've overdosed on FIRST when...

hahaha, don't worry about it.

There was an ad or something for Jon Dudas on the big screens at the champs in Atlanta. He works at the patent office. Our team has been obsessed with the word dodeum (not actually a word, but a "creation" by a team member), so I guess the close connection set them off. When mentioned previously on this thread I believe, we were all astonished by a post acknowledging that we were not the only team to have noticed Jon Dudas. Therefore I really am not surprised that you have never heard of it. And it is definitely a sign to me that we have clearly overdosed on FIRST. Late nights create new words, and then more late nights and exciting competitions just take it to a whole new level!!

or you will just shout out in middle of your friends conversation to tell them it is 2:34.
