I saw a comercial for this and I think it is the British Robot Wars. The host they got for the show is the former wrestler who was Cactus Jack, and many other aliases. Anyway the commercial mentioned, and showed, the RW house robots and their field.

TNN show.....

Actually the show is called Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors... I just got done watching it and its kinda cool.....abunch of homemade robots go up against robots built by TNN....the robots that are built by TNN are really cool too....there is this one called Sr. Kill-a-lot or something like that......and it can pick robots up and drop them in the grinder/crusher pit thing in the floor....i think this show may actually be alot more interesting to watch cuz the robots get beat up a lot more.....

Well im Watching it at midnight, i went out today. Sir-kill-alot is one of the house bots from the British show robot wars, they probably added the extereme things to spruce it up.

It's on tonight at 8. And Mick Foley hosts it!

Anyhow, it is the British version of Battlebots, but there is more strategy involved, as (at least with the previous years) there are 3 stages: The gauntlet, a sport of some sort, and then head-to-head. You have to have the speed to get through the gauntlet, the agility to do the sport, and the power for the head-to-head. plus, you have the house robots interfering all the time.

i only saw the last 10 min....

there are 3 stages.....i only saw the last 10 min and all they were doing was a brawl with the homemade robots against the TNN bots.....

Eddie is right, it is the British RW and it is better than BB. There is more strategy adn different levels involved. I'd watch RW over BB anyday.
*looks at the shirt she's sporting with a British flag on it and giggles*
The destruction is easier to understand in RW than BB becasue the house robots are avoidable. The destruction is a result of bad strategy.

Wow just what we need another show involving head to head destruction of robots!!

The only good thing about Robot wars is the element that I wish FIRST would incorporate into their game, the "House Bot". I think it would be great to play against FIRST built bots either on their team, or opposing them.

And if I had to pick among the three evils, I'd pick Robotica above the rest, just for the simple fact that there is some strategy involved and tricky aspects of a course that you have to deal with!

The origional RW was much better than the TNN version, but this version is still pretty good, and now you have to release the pit. oh, and Kill-a-lot got a new lance.

The old one was much more planning oriented. I like the commentator on this show much more than the ones on BB because the guy on TNN isnt a comdiean hes an announcer.

I'm sorry to say but he is neither a comedian nor an announcer, He's hired help. The idea behind hired help is to get someone who people already know and have them try to do a specific job, ie: host another lame head to head robot destruction show!

I personally think BB needs a new announcer.

If any of you watched the Pay-per-view one they had they had a specialist who knew all about robots and engineering to announce along side a regular announcer and that kool robot y2k wich al it really did was say 321 lets kick some 'bot to start the matches. They were good.

How can you hate robot combat shows? If you really love FIRST, you'd realize that combat was rather common in the early days.
