Re: 2007 Monty Madness

Monty Madness was awesome! Thanks to 869, 1403, 2070, and most of all 103, for such a great set of matches. 869, 2070 & 1403, y'all were GREAT alliance partners, and to 103, I have never seen such a great display of GP.

For those of you who don't know, 1923 was called in for the last match of semi-finals to replace 2070, and when we had found that a few of our members had already packed up and left without us, 103 lent us their practice bot to play...in a match AGAINST 103! Cassie from 103 also coached us, and 103's drive team taugh us how to use the controls.

To make the incredibly long story of the incredibly long finals a little bit shorter, We lost in the end to a really great alliance of 2016, 1626, and 1396. It was great playing with y'all, and I hope to get to compete with you guys soon.

Thanks to 1403 & 75 for hosting such an amazing event.

CONGRATULATIONS to "Big Mike" Schroeder on the Woodie Flowers Jr Award, our favorite Winnie the Pooh definitely deserved it.

....I miss Monty already!

Re: 2007 Monty Madness

Once again Monty Madness was madd awesome congrats to all the teams that won. Sadly, me and Tdorthebnator (danny) left before the final match becuase it was his dad's wedding anniversary and he had to get home. I did see the crazy rave light show thing though. Also madd props to the royal knights it was cool when you guys started to use the 103 machine. I was scared a wormhole or something would open when both 103 machines went against each other.

Re: 2007 Monty Madness

The Definition of what a Chairmen's Award Team was shown to me again today. As Libby said, 869,1403, & 2070 called in their substitution and I jumped for joy, i was going to get to see my kids compete in eliminations . so i ran to the pits to help prep the robot, to see my pits empty, and I won't lie i got a little discouraged. the thought came to me to ask if we can use 103's spare robot, and 103's response was a whole hearted lets do it, so things set into motion 103's team literally split into 2 one 103 team and another extension of team 1923, especially the coach of 1923, Cassie who had the wonderful chance to be opposite 103 for that one match(been in that situation before, never fun) I was awestruck by the fact that 103 was behind us 100% I mean we are their competitors at this point. When the match score was announced i was floored we actually pulled off a win against 103 and their alliance. At one point i walked over to Mr and Mrs Beck and said "I'm sorry". they responded to me, Don't be.

So for those of you looking to make yourselves a better "Chairmen's Worthy" Team, keep in mind 103 got no benifit from this, and they cannot use this in their chairmens award submission. 103 is What the Chairmen's Award is.

My eternal thanks and gratitude go out to all of team 103 for their continued gracious professionalism, and all around amazing sportsmanship

Monty Madness was by all means THE GREATEST! Our team - TEAM 2070- had so much fun! The matches were so exciting, every team portrayed gp, and everything overall was amazing. Nothing could've made the event any better!!
....WOW...when it came to the finals, everyone went crazy!! haha. The finals was so intense! We had to substitute a team in for us...(Holla 1923- you guys rock!) and they did superb--Thanks Team 1923. The other alliances- team 1403 and 869 were absolutely great and supportive! Their robots were nearly flawless- needless to say...!!
After going in for 3 matches- we ended up with 2 ties..then the 4th match finally ended it with a win for the blue alliance!!!! --CONGRATULATIONS Teams 2016, 1626, and 1396!!! -- robots, strategy, and just the overall game playing was fantastic!!
We are so thrilled with our accomplishments this year as a rookie team!! We would like to thank all of the supportive teams in the NY Regional and participants in Monty Madness! Nothing could've made our season as enjoyable!! Thank You!!

Oh, how I miss it!!

Ah to flashback on the memories

THANK YOU TEAM 75 and 1403! THE COMPETITION WAS BY FAR THE GREATEST!!!

Brian from our team already mentioned it, but thanks a lot, all of you. Lots of thanks go to teams 1626 and 2016 for some awesome matches in the playoffs! We had a lot of fun, and I hope that we do get to go against some of you again, though a few of us are graduating in June, but we'll be back! I had fun coaching you guys! Let us know if you ever need help with anything!

Re: 2007 Monty Madness

I'd like to Thank Dave Kazan for coordinating such a fantastic event. As it has since inception, Monty Madness is an event I've looked forward to. It beats out regional events in my book.

I'd also like to thank everyone who stopped by the Vex tournament. It was exciting and I had a lot of fun. Thanks to Occam's Engineers and Driven Robotics for helping run the event - both first rate teams, and a pleasure (as always) to work with.

Re: 2007 Monty Madness

Monty Madness was yet again one amazing off-season event. From interacting with fellow CD members to seeing other competition robots, I really had a great time and look forward to next year’s event. Thanks go out to Dave and the entire MM crew for running such a great robotics competition in the Garden State.

Also I would like to mention the VIP FIRST alumnus buttons that college students/ FIRST alumni received. I felt that it was an interesting facet to the Monty Madness competition for recognizing these individuals. Hopefully this concept will come back next year.

Congrats to Big Mike for winning the Woodie Flowers Jr Award.

Congrats to all the teams that competed and those who came out victorious.

Yesterday made me proud to say that I’m a FIRSTer.

I want to thank everyone for once again putting on an absolutely amazing post-season event. I'm very glad that I got to be a part of it, even though those final rounds started to get pretty long! We had some great competition this year and I can't wait to see what next year's event brings.

I'd also like to give a big thanks to Pete K for all of his tireless work at Monty. He did an amazing job with the field, and we even managed to get it packed up in a relatively short amount of time before we all dropped dead from exhaustion.
