Re: The Nothing Thread

Im listening to a country station and when you aren't intently listening to the music ie. not trying to understand it or figure the lyrics. All the songs sound the same. I am curious does this happen to anyone else. Or is it just my own lack an ear or brain??

I'm not a huge country fan. I'm more into prog like Pink Floyd, Rush, etc.

The same thing happens with rap music. I think it all sounds the same.

Re: The Nothing Thread

OK, so today was my birthday. It was pretty awesome. In the morning, my best friend gave me a Transformers helmet, complete with voice changer, and a giant card.

Then I had dinner at a mexican place.

But best of all, my fellow CD users wished me a happy birthday in the Birthdays! thread.

^.^

Sweet. Happy Birthday Jacob!
My birthday is comming up on June 24. What I'm thinking is a nice long bike ride, and a full out Batlefront II game, with networked computers and a PS2. Would try to get an XBOX in it, too, but can't get it networked.

Who knows? One of my friend's B-Day is that same day, I'm trying to do something with him. Man, I hate schedule conflicts

Tennessee lost tonight... makes me very sad. I actually got to watch the first 4 innings too. It's too bad they didn't win a NC during any of the 4 years they had the very best pitcher to ever play the game. *tear* Football season is right around the corner... 87 days, TBE.

Re: The Nothing Thread

OK, so the portal is getting slow again.

Tomorrow, out team is having a fundraiser! We are putting on a Car Wash from 9-3. It will be held at ASD in West Hartford. I can post more info if anyone is interested.

Besides that, the day was pretty cool. Just hung around in my cubicle, played some games, fixed a server problem, ate some doritos, etc.

What kind of stuff are people doing this weekend? I know I'm helping at the Car Wash and going to a B-Day party (not mine).

Bored,
Jacob

Re: The Nothing Thread

I'm going to try to learn how to do Mills' Mess (the key word here is try...), go fishing, and go shooting with my uncle. I'm also hoping to finish reprogramming our 2007 robot, for the sixth time. This version better score autonomously, or else I'm coming after that robot with a chainsaw! Overall a pretty laid back weekend, should be nice and relaxing.

I just got a book about XNA, a Windows/Xbox 360 game API written on top of .NET. Yes, even the libraries are .NET! . So far I've made a Pong clone. I'd like to make an Arkanoid, I put a link for those of you who don't have any 20 year old game systems, clone, but that will probably take more that one weekend.

Other than that I plan to watch CD-spy.

EDIT: I knew I forgot something. I'm supposed to be getting the 2007 robot sometime soon, so I can get a gyro working. I'm supposed to make field relative driving work.

Re: The Nothing Thread

We have the coolest sunset going on outside right now! We had a big thunderstorm go through about an hour ago and the sky has turned orange and pink and is making everything in the yard glow. Really cool!

Ooo Ooo now it is half purple (night) and half pinkish orange and the road is still reflecting the orange in the rain!

Re: The Nothing Thread

So today, I learned a few things:

1. Having a car wash while it's raining out is not a very effective way of earning money for your robotics team.

2. Having a car wash while it's raining out is an effective way of bringing your team closer together.

3. If you are going to have a car wash, make sure you have a very large stereo / car stereo that you can crank up to keep your workers happy.

4. If you do decided to have a car wash while it's raining out, offer all of your workers a coffee/tea/beverage of their choice, even if it means using the first three hours of profit to pay for it (2 cars).

5. Your kids will start spraying each other with the hoses at a car wash, so forget about trying to prevent it.

6. Change your underwear at least once a week (even if you don't think they are dirty).

7. Life takes Visa. Your robotics team doesn't. Make sure your patrons know that BEFORE you wash their car.

That's about all I have.

Jacob

EDIT (grrr.... another example of why having this in the games folder is annoying...):

Nothing.

This weekend, I was on a climbing trip in Ohio at John Bryan State Park. It was fun and everybody in my scout troop had fun. It was excellent weather, not to warm, not to cold. But we did need some more snacks and water. Being away from food and having one water bottle while being active all day do not go well. Makes dinner that much better, though.

Just got home an hour ago. I leave tomorrow at six for Michigan for most of the week. That will be fun. Gotta love Michigan.
