I might. My 4 year old ipod was stolen not too long ago and I'm not very fond of my razer phone that I have. I will however be waiting for some reviews to come out to see if it is really as good as apple makes it out to be.
And man that thing's expensive.. Anyone know of any insurance policies for phones that covers theft, destruction, etc.?

I've heard no insurance from AT&T's provider, but have also heard rumors of AppleCare plans for it... I guess we'll find out in a few weeks.

Depends on the plan. If you look at wired or engadget they have all of the math for ya. Its actually cheaper in some cases (plans excluding phone prices).

I saw a bunch of people outside Cingular on my way home from work today [at 6:04] and I laughed because they are part of some pathetic hype bigger than the Ford Mustang according to one of the sites mentioned above.

I don't understand everybody's fascination with with the iPhone? Its iRritating especially since every tech blog on the web has iPhone for 50% of their feeds and no new news is circulating.

Has anyone heard of the new BlackBerry?

I have. I tried it when I went phone shopping Monday. I couldn't stand it.


The iPhone...it's...so...pretty. But I don't think I'd ever get one, I use my phone for Calling/Texting/Sometimes pictures. It seems to be missing 1.5 of that (I don't like on screen keyboards).

I heard that the Apple store near me got 1500 of each capacity, for 3000 iPhones total. If other stores had those same numbers, I don't think they'll be worth much second hand.

I really think that the iPhone is very cool, but only 4 or 8 gigs of storage!?!? I don't see why this is so. It amazes me that it is that big, yet they couldn't fit a HD into it. They expect people to fit movies, music, applications, and more into that tiny of a space? Please, someone with an iPhone, let me know how full it is before you put anything on it! It seems like it would be full before it even is used!

number one, i agree, im not a big fan of the iPhone even though i work for AT&T.

2. YES i've seen the new blackberries, 8330 from Sprint looks really good and the new 8820 for T-Mobile isn't that bad either. i mean you finally get wifi on a RIM device (8820+3.2MP Camera), and on the 8330 , it has a unlocked GSM slot so you can travel to different countries and use it with ease.

now on to the ifraud, iphoney, whatever you call it.

I was working earlier today and i get a e-mail on my 8800 with a picture of people standing outside of a apple store about 15 minutes away, i show it to my coworker, and he says "lets go over there wearing sucker shirts" i couldn't stop laughing.

anyways, i need to test accessories for the device, they didn't bother even giving the 3rd party accessory dealers any hard copies or anything on the iPhone, so everything was done by trial and error. therefore i have to sneak a touch at a iPhone and test some accessories on it.

another thing, your normal 3.5mm headphones, WILL NOT work with the iPhone, you need to buy the adapter for them or buy headphones with a 2.5mm jack.

about the insurance, AT&T WILL NOT provide insurance on the device, im not sure about apple, but im pretty sure that if it is stolen, your screwed.

The phone has no SIM card slot, it uses something else that you can't change, so if you want to change your device, your sort of screwed, you have to go to a AT&T store and pay whatever they charge for a SIM card ($10-$25, depending on dealer)

you need an iTunes account with a valid credit card to activate the phone, if the phone is reported stolen, when you connect your phone to a computer, it will shut off, like everything. using this when you make your purchase at the apple store or a corporate AT&T store (Authorized dealers like wirefly and my company don't get the phone at all, nor does my company plan on selling it anytime in the near future.somewhat boo {no easy commissions} and somewhat yay {if you didn't know before, i don't like the phone} ) , the purchase is registered into the Point of Sale (POS) system that AT&T uses for customer support etc.
