Inspirational video clips

At the NASA Robotics Academy we are currently looking to make a compilation video to show off engineering education/robotics education. I was wondering if anyone had any good video clips they would be able to either send to me or link to. I would really appreciate it.

Re: Inspirational video clips

Someone else on Delphi posted this link to a clip at MIT. It tells the history of one of their engineering courses- and very possibly an inspiration for FIRST.
I like it because it shows other folks the roots of FIRST and the value of FIRST (if MIT believes it's a good way to teach...) and possibly the idea that, while every student won't get into MIT, they can all participate in this high energy, highly effective program (FIRST) even while in middle and high school... It also shows our very own Woodie Flowers as a grad student!!

Re: Inspirational video clips

I've got the season wrap videos of Team 190 (Gompei and the HERD) from 2003, 2004 and 2007, and video from Team 971 from 2005 and 2006, as well as their 2006 and 2007 wrap videos.

Some of the 190 clips can be found in poor quality on Google Video and Youtube.

PM me with exactly what you're interested in, and I can send you whatever. Are you looking for unedited, raw footage or clips from presentation videos?

Re: Inspirational video clips

Alex, This week I mailed the DVD made at the 2007 Chesapeake Regional to all the teams participating at this event. It is the one I showed to the NASA Robotics Academy in June. We hope to put it on the Chesapeake website. Lots of VIP's interviewed as well as students.
PM me with an address if you would like a copy for this project.
Also Dr. Spence, the FLL partner here, is very active in engineering education on a national level as well as local level. Let me know if you would like to reach her.

Re: Inspirational video clips

The absolute most inspirational video clips that I have ever seen are from the 2002 Hammond Robotics "Do The Beatty Shuffle" video. This is one of the best examples of FIRST inspiration that I have ever seen. If you would like to get your hands on this video you should get in contact with the Beatty team (71), and I am sure that they would be glad to send you a copy, they sent me one, and didn't charge me a dime. They are very nice people, are really "into" robotics, and are one of the most inspirational teams that I know of.
