Go to Post We had an over all losing record this year. When I look at kid's faces, they don't give a rip about that. I see excitement about the next event and talking about improvements for next year. Winning is nice, but that is not the reason I do what I do. - wilsonmw04 [more]

Cmucam2+ Problems

Hi,

I purchased the CMUcam2+ in order to have the camera integrated in to a robot. When I power the camera using a 8.5 DC adapter, 350mA, the Power LED turns green and the SX52 processor on the camera's PCB gets so hot that you can't touch it(about 50 + degrees C)! My question is; is this normal?( I am assuming not) How can I fix this? I tried a 6 V power supply made of 1.5 V alcaline batteries and the SX52 still heats up!

1.I tied to set up communication with a PC by building a RS232 Level Converter with no luck.

2. Tilt/PAn auto mode does not work as outlined in the CMUcam2 manual.

3. None of the status LED's light up
