Re: USF Robotics Invitational in Tampa

Glad everyone had a great time, and I hope to see you all next year!!

We did record all the matches, but it's currently one long DVD so we'll be breaking it up into individual matches and other odds and ends and then archive it online. I'll send out the link once it's ready.

Re: USF Robotics Invitational in Tampa

I had so much fun at this competition, thank you to everyone who made it happen, specially team 79 for being a great host.

Thank you to 1902 and 1369 for being amazing partners. It was so much fun to share those last matches with you guys. Also congrats to 233, 744, and 1592.

Re: USF Robotics Invitational in Tampa

TNT was a BLAST. (no pun intended) Special thanks to Brian Camp, KRUNCH, and everyone who volunteered. Even more thanks to the teams who came too! We wouldn't have had anything to do without you.

This event has helped me realize that theres no way I can just omit robotics from my life. I've been doing this for years, and being away from my home team to go to college is no excuse to not get involved. So, as long as it doesn't kill me I'll keep volunteering and helping out. There's nothing like FIRST robotics. The atmosphere is friendly and fun; the people are open and helpful and wonderful. This is a wonderful trend that has every right to continue and flourish.

So... who's up for coming again next year?

Re: USF Robotics Invitational in Tampa

I definatly think that givin enough time, and with some more teams this could be one of the best off season events. I thought that the lock in was a very good idea and seemed to keep everyone entertained. Plus those final matches were the most exiting matches i've ever driven.

Re: USF Robotics Invitational in Tampa

I definitely had a great time at TNT this weekend. Despite not doing so well competitively, I still had a blast.

The lock-in was an awesome plus to the event. Human Rack N' Roll was my favorite of the night. Sleep? HA!

Congrats to the winning alliance. I was sitting in the stands with 1902 and I could feel all of the anxiety and excitement during through finals even though we didn't even make it to elims.

I've uploaded most of the matches from Human Rack & Roll; more should be up in a few hours or tomorrow:
Match 1
Match 2

Ugh, finally ruined my 108 post count. I could only resist ChiefDelphi for so long :/

Re: USF Robotics Invitational in Tampa

I agree with Noelle!
108 had a blast!

And personally, I wish I would have stayed at the dome friday night! LOL
I had so such fun with the other refs!!!! I'm so glad I got the chance to be a referee. It was a lot of fun! I am pretty sure that the other volunteers wish it didn't end but man, was it exhasting! LOL
Still, I am proud of and for all and any teams that came to Tempest in Tampa. I want to congratulate all of them, and kudos to 233, 744, and 1592 for winning.

Let's hope next year gets a bigger turn out! XD

By the way Brian, awesome trophies!

Re: USF Robotics Invitational in Tampa

Team 1523 almost didn't make the event; thank goodness we were able to be part of the inauguration of this amazing off-season event.

Enough can't be said in praise of the TNT staff, volunteers & sponsors (and with one being Hooters you knew this invitational just had to be fun!). From the tour of USF engineering/robotics labs, to 1am gaming, to sleeping on the rubber arena floor, to the efficiently run matches/competition; all aspects of Tempest 'N' Tampa were well done. Thanks for the fun!

MARS appreciated the chance to play withTeams 179 & 79 in the quarterfinals. Congratulations to the 1st ever TNT winners; the "Pink, Bionic Sharks". Can't wait to attend again next year.

Team 894 is looking at putting an invitational on. Can somebody give me an estimate to how much renting the field and such costs?
Thanks

Re: USF Robotics Invitational in Tampa

I'll be there. Can't say 100% percent for the team yet so I am not going to speak for them but I really can not wait for tempest. Great time had by all last year and I am sure this year will be the same.

Sadly, 108 will not be able to make it this year.... ::tear:: There is just too many other things going on at that time for the team.
However, my mother and I will again be volunteering! So, there will still be some 108 love on the feild!
