I need to set up a slider to allow me to change color on a texture.

This is done in wire parameters. Hit ALT 5 to bring up the window and then find your slider on one side of the window and then find your color map in the other window. You want to have the control direction going toward the color so the slider controls it. Then you do a basic math problem down below (example. value/99) So the colors dont go crazy.

You want to have the value of the slider control the color of the map you are using. It is easier if you name everything then you can find it in that ridiculously long drop down list that you get in the wire parameter windows.
