Go to Post I don't think it's that big of a deal if FIRST makes a few mistakes or cuts back every now and then. Personally, I'm just glad I have the opportunity to be in this program. - Crop-Circles [more]

**FIRST EMAIL**/Reminder: 7th Annual Women in Science and Technology Forum

Greetings Teams:

This is a reminder that FIRST and UNH-Manchester will host our seventh annual Women In Science and Technology Forum on Friday, November 2, 2007 from 8:30 AM to 2 PM. The event will be held at FIRST Place and UNH-Manchester, both located in the historic mill yard section of Manchester. This event is devoted to sharing valuable information that will inspire and motivate young women toward science, engineering and technology careers, as well as discuss women's professional initiatives and achievements.

For high school girls approaching a decision about what college to attend, what major to pursue, or what career paths might be open to them, the Women In Science and Technology Forum will provide a unique opportunity to meet professional women and receive guidance through workshops, panel discussions and interview sessions. Also, Forum participants will hear about a variety of programs from colleges and universities, and learn about resources that are available to help them achieve their education and career goals.

This year's speakers will include women involved in a variety of science and technology fields with equally diverse backgrounds and paths that have led them to where they are today.
Questions? Email ksullivan@usfirst.org or firstplace@usfirst.org

We look forward to seeing you on Friday, November 2nd!

Go Teams!

Is anyone else on CD attending this? I'll be there, I just wanted to see if there are any familiar faces there (besides the friend I'm bringing with me, of course.)

It sounds like it should be an exciting program!

Re: **FIRST EMAIL**/Reminder: 7th Annual Women in Science and Technology Forum

I've attended several times in the past and brought 6-8 girls with me. I've also had parents and another faculty member along on different occasions.

We've all been impressed with the quality of presenters and in what they had to say. For many of the girls I've brought it has literally been a life changing experience.

I bought a book for my son and had it signed. When I gave it to him, it was a kind of , 'Oh, well," reaction. After he had read the book, it was, "Hey, Mom, where'd you get that book? How did you ever get it signed? etc..."
He was impressed!

Whether I come this year wuth a group will depend on school funding and funding for a van...we have to come several hundred miles. It's been worth it, I feel, but it depends on availability of funding.
