FYI: I once opened one of these with finger nail clippers. Broke the clippers but it got the box open.

1.) Yes- all the time.
2.) Scissors are my tool of preference.
3.) I have experienced pain while opening them, from both the sharp edges and my hand being trapped between the firm plastic. I have never really cut myself, however. I've never damaged a product, but that's only because I took the extra time to make sure I didn't- I have come close, though.
4.) At least 2-3 minutes, sometimes longer, depending on the size of the package.
5.) If it made it two out of the three (i.e. quicker & safer, but not necessarily easier).
6.) ~$5-$10, most likely.

my tools of choice are a hacksaw and wire cutters. i havent hurt myself with those but back in the days of no tools and only scissors i cut my self some.

wire cutters (big ones) work really well.
