Everyone's counting their chickens...

i think, or hope at least, that teams are above throwing matches in order to be in the alliance they want.. it's not in the spirit of the competition, and everyone should realize that that is not the point of this all..

and the rejections too, that's part of it all. you have the right not to want to play with a certain team, afterall.. if you force a team to partner when the don't want to, there's not going to be much of an alliance or teamwork there..just everyone think about their qualifying matches.. sometimes when you found out who your partner was, i'm sure you weren't the happiest. and chances are you just kind of said, let's both do our things, sometimes it worked, other times it didn't..

as for back-door deals, and super alliances, as dan said.. the best team will win, and part of the competition is upsets and underdogs, why are you all pre-determining who's best and who should win? no matter how the pairing goes the best TWO teams will win, because only two teams will win that final match (and chances are, no one will remember who that thrid one is).. and whomever you may think is not as good.. paired with the team of their choice, they just may be an unexpected super-alliance.. don't count out any team too early, or count yourself in either.. because, i guarantee, you will get surprised.. you only think you've seen it all..

the competition, it's fine the way it is.. nothing will change what everyone considers "unfair".. but, as every year that's come and gone, nothing's really fair about it all.. luck and fate are uncontrollable variables in the mix.. and no matter how hard everyone tries to be rid of them, they aren't going anywhere..

best of luck to everyone, hope to be the best, but remember there's only a 1 in 200+ chance that you actually are... be prepared..
