My team is only a 20 minute drive away, so we're not staying over.

But last year, on Friday night, my family decided to stay at the hotel because they were afraid they'd get stuck on the mountain in the snow (there are always accidents on Avon Mountain when it snows, and that storm last year was pretty bad). They stayed at The Hartford Marriott Downtown, which is connected to the CT Convention Center. Wow, lots of veterans AND several rookies are coming to Hartford. The venue is great, the volunteer staff is awesome ... what more can you ask for?

Besides, it's not like we had to stand outside for three hours when the fire alarm went off or anything.

After reading this thread, everyone has had excellent reasons for coming to Hartford for the competition. The one reason that I feel you all should come is the wonderful pit admin crew that is there to greet you and make your pit experience the best ever! This group of people have many years of experience in the FIRST world and can help you with your pit needs. Oh ya and the best reason to come is ME just kidding! Come to Hartford and see us. Don't forget to stop bye and say Hi.

Not with that nice convention center entrance area to sit in.
It's great exercise to walk down 20 stories and the snow is invigorating.
