Best Value for the Food Coupons

With all of the food experience that people have with the lunch coupons, can we share our thoughts on the best food for the coupon at Disney Parks??
I nominate the Chicken dinner at the Liberty Inn at the far side of Epcot. Any other places?

i can't recommend where to eat.. fact is, there's never much picking and choosing in that, whatever's available in the time you've got..

..but.. i will make a suggestion for those of you who may not know about something our team has noticed over the years..

you know those breakfast coupons they give you (this may/maynot only apply to those staying in the all-star resorts, but i'm not sure).. they have a value of either the food it says on it, or $7.50 if you want to purchase breakfast from the 'market' in the food court area. a tip that's always given to the students on our team is to spend all of that $7.50 and get stuff you can use throughout the day (water especially, fruits, etc.).. cause you're not going to spend all that on breakfast stuff (at least most of us don't).. just a tip.. and buy those insulated mugs the first night, they turn out to be a bargain at the end..

only one week left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (i'm going nuts!!!)

colleen

Would anyone happen to know if they sell those insulated mugs at Dixie Landings Hotel? Just curious.

Here is a trick we learned the first year,(this is now our 4th). Get as much extra stuff (fruit) at breakfast. Then buy lunch at the competition. Use the lunch coupon for dinner. All the listed places on the coupons will honor them for dinner. It is worth 3 times as much as a dinner than as a lunch.

There's a restaurant in MGM. Can't remember the name but it's set up to
look like a drive-in movie. The tables are little cars. The sandwiches
are HUGE!

Sorry about my last message ( It links to a message from Joe Johnson).
I don't know how that happened. Anyway, way what I said was .......

Sci-Fi Theater is the name of the place in MGM. Burgers, shakes, etc.
while you watch old sci-fi movies in your '57 Chevy. Make reservations
in advance because it usually books up pretty early.

Also, the Liberty Inn is actually in the Magic Kingdom across from the
Haunted House. It ranks high on my list along with the German Buffet in
the Germany area @ Epcot.

See 'ya in a week

The experience I have had with the meal tickets is on the last night
gather up all your LUNCH tickets and oreder pizzas. I know this works
at the All star music and probley the movies and sports as well. FOUR
LUNCH tickets are worth one pizza.

Also lunch tickets can be used as dinner tickets as well at these hotels.

my 2 cents

GO AZTECHS

Good luck to all teams wish I could be there.

Although the Sci-fi Diner is a cool restaurant, you can't use the lunch tickets there, they can only be used in the cafeteria-style restaurants. The Commissary at MGM is my personal favorite, we make sure to stop there every year!

Also, one more tip for getting the most out of your coupons. Most people dont realize that the breakfast (at least it has for the last 2 years) actually includes 2 drinks.., 1 hot and one cold. Just get the hot cup for your drink at breakfast, then grab a bottle of something so you can save it for later. That way you don't have to spend so much on drinks at the competition.

Now let me get this straight, not only do you people go to the WDW Parks during the Nationals, but you EAT too!?!?

I honestly can't understand mortals ;-)

Joe J.

P.S. Mountain Dew is the closest thing to ambrosia as you can get away from Mt. Olympus. I practically live on the stuff during the Nationals.

This is what I would suggest:

Try pushing your luck wherever you use the coupons. It almost always works.

I bet you're asking yourself: 'what is this supposed to mean?' What I mean is, order the entre, a desert, fruit, side order, etc., until they tell you to stop (I would prioritize and order your food in that order). Usually the coupon says it's good for an entre, side item OR desert, and a drink. We've noticed you can get about one of everything if you try. If they say no, then oh well, nothing lost, but it usually works.

Also, ask for the souvenier mug drink. They almost always give it to you with the coupon. Do this with your first coupon and you'll get cheap refills the rest of your stay (not to mention you get a nice fancy mug).

Okay, here I go, this has been the best luck for me with the food coupons.
Rule #1-NEVER GET LUNCH WITH A COUPON AT THE COMPETITION. This is extremely important because the food there is usually not very good. Instead, try one of the restauraunts inside Epcot. There is a place where you can get pizzas shaped ike mickey's head---my personal favorite. There also are a few places that serve burgers and fries, if that interests you more. These places are located right in the enterance.
Rule #2-Try to get 'lunch' around 3:00. Everyone knows about the late hours that we put in at the competion, and if you eat a big breakfast, using all of the coupon of course, you should last that long. Aslo, this prevents you from also buying dinner. If you get hungry later buy ice cream or something to hold you over untill breakfast
Rule #3-Always use all of your coupon!!!!! Nevernot get something just becasue you don't like it or are not hungry for all the food. If you fill up, any extra food can be used as ammunition to throw!! Just Kidding. You can always give the food away, for guys this should not be a problem, but girls, you can alwaysgive it to one of your ever hungry male teammates.
Rule #4-At breakfast, make sure you get everything you can, and even better if it is packaged to go already.
Rule #5-Get a waterbottle as your drink, and a milkshake or soda as your 'dessert'.
Rule #6-To go along with rule number 5, an entre to you is a dessert to somebody else So, you can play around with the rules a little so that you can get the food you want. And remember sometimes 'value meals' or meal combos can be counted as only your entre. Try for as much as you can get.

Now for my favorites...
At MGM, try the commissary, and get the chicken nuggets
Also, the Mickey Pizza place in Epcot is always good.

Enjoy the information and best of luck to everyone at Epcot.

Here's some advise from someone who needs a lot of calories to get through the day. I pack a fanny pack everyday with a protein drink(in a can), several Balance bars, a raisin box, and cough drops(good for when all the yelling on stage gets to your throat). Also keep a water bottle handy.
I usually like to eat throughout the day(in addition to eating the regular meals)to keep my energy up which is definately needed at a FIRST competition. The heat and excitement really burns up energy. In addition, it has been my experience that the breakfasts at SPORTS is the way to go to get the day started. Eat a HUGE breakfast to get yourself fueled up to start your day.
Keeping feed and alert is part of the plan to put on a good show in EPCOT. Oh yea, get as much rest as you can too.
