MD State Fair

We would like to congratulate the 11 teams that attended the MD State Fair. We gave away $11,600 to the teams plus $6,000 in scholarships for a total of $17,600! Congratulations and thanks to all the teams and volunteers who made this event a great success! Also thanks to Mike Wade of NASA Goddard for organizing this exceptional Off-season event. We would like to thank AutoDesk, AAI, MBNA, Sigma Space and Mantech for sponsoring the prize money for the event. And we would like to thank the MD State Fair for allowing us to have this wonderful opportunity.

Along with what Steve said, I think we can say that the competition overall was a success. The Lieutanant Governor of Maryland, the Comptroller of Maryland, and the County Executive of Baltimore County all stopped by during the week. The Director of NASA GSFC, officials from AAI, and officials from the Maryland State Fair were on hand for the awards ceremony. A large number of fair goers stopped by to check out the tent so there was a good amount of FIRST publicity going on. We hope to do this again next year and hope that we can get a better turn out
