I really like #71 - Beatty's velcro pickup system. It's such a simple solution to such a complex problem. Very elegant.

This year I also like #16 - Baxter's drivetrain. That thing is crazy. Who woulda thought to put two drive systems on one robot?? It seems to do wonders for them. Very creative.

For '98 I LOVED the #45 - Delphi/Kokomo gripper. The roller on the side allowed it to hold balls tightly, while picking up fast and reliably. The roller even guided balls into the gripper that weren't perfectly centered! Very impressive.

I'm not gonna sit around bragging about my 'bot -- but of course I love that one too... =)
