We use MasterCAM 9 for our HAAS milling machine and SheetCAM for our plasma cutter.

I use Virtual Gibbs for my personal mill, the CNC plasma at school uses a proprietary little converter that accepts DXF's from inventor =). I have used Mastercam before and would suggest it if your looking to buy software. but a word of advice.... try to stay away from ESPRIT, I use it at work and I don't particularly care for it.

Best: Mastercam
Next best: Virtual Gibbs
Last choice: ESPRIT

Just depends on how much of a budget you guys have for it. Hope this helps =).
